Is there any reason that my favorite Hans Zimmer score, CRIMSON TIDE, has not been released in an expanded edition? Perhaps I've missed info on this... Also, is the currently available CD a re-recording or original film tracks? Thanks! SCOTT

Is there any reason that my favorite Hans Zimmer score, CRIMSON TIDE, has not been released in an expanded edition? Perhaps I've missed info on this... Could a million reasons why this one hasn't been expanded that. The film was released by Disney so Intrada is the only one who probably could expand it Also, is the currently available CD a re-recording or original film tracks? Thanks! SCOTT As far as I know they are the original film tracks

Yes, I'm pretty sure they're original tracks, merged into beautiful, suite-like tracks spread over an already-generous 1 hour. Just perfect the way it is. I know some people don't like those long suites but I always loved it when Zimmer presented his scores like that. Crimson Tide really plays perfectly in current form. As a soundtrack album, it's still one of my all time faves. But to the topic headline (which was a little bit of a clickbait tease): BEYOND RANGOON remains Zimmer's best score. The Thin Red Line
