Is there any reason that my favorite Hans Zimmer score, CRIMSON TIDE, has not been released in an expanded edition? Perhaps I've missed info on this...

Also, is the currently available CD a re-recording or original film tracks?

Thanks!

SCOTT

Could a million reasons why this one hasn't been expanded that. The film was released by Disney so Intrada is the only one who probably could expand it

As far as I know they are the original film tracks

Yes, I'm pretty sure they're original tracks, merged into beautiful, suite-like tracks spread over an already-generous 1 hour. Just perfect the way it is.

But to the topic headline (which was a little bit of a clickbait tease): BEYOND RANGOON remains Zimmer's best score.

I know some people don't like those long suites but I always loved it when Zimmer presented his scores like that. Crimson Tide really plays perfectly in current form. As a soundtrack album, it's still one of my all time faves.

The OST is fantastic and a perfect listening experience, but I would still purchase an expansion.
Best score? A tie between Gladiator and Prince of Egypt.

Whatever your favorite Zimmer score is, is indeed the best Zimmer score. But, in life and the arts, there are no "bests." Although Popeyes does make the best fried chicken breast sandwich. big grin

Days of Thunder for me. I'm so glad La-La Land released it since it never got a proper release.

I read the title and immediately had to post my favorite Hans Zimmer score! It's 'Crimson Tide', by the way! I am surprised nobody has mentioned it in this thread!
