Zimmer‘s best score, according to the times I returned to it and the sublety of evoking feelings and atmosphere?

Easy.

„Regarding Henry“.

I understand why Hans Zimmer is so popular today. I will not say it is his best score but it is one of my favorites. The balls to the wall "King Arthur". The cue "Woad To Ruin" is a lot of fun and exciting. The Last Samurai, Sherlock Holmes, all of his Pirates of the Caribbean , Pearl Harbor, Crimson Tide. He has been one of the hardest working since the 90's and done a lot of great work. I could list more but those are probably my most go to Zimmer.

Blade Runner 2049 is a great score. Easily one of my favourite albums. Dune, Gladiator and Interstellar are all thereabouts though.

Crimson Tide has a killer main theme, but I never found the whole score to be that good.

I love the score and I think its very immersive. It feels poetic to me. On the other hand I'd say The Rock has a killer main theme but I just cannot get into the rest of that score.

I don't know why but I really love Broken Arrow though I consider it a very abstract score and not an easy listen.

His early ones, before he became a "name" linked to every franchise and had an army of clones;

Backdraft
Green Card
Pacific Heights
Driving Miss Daisy
The Power of One

Love em all.

Early Zimmer had a much different, but totally unique sound that was exhilarating and for me, a new voice in scoring - Rainman, Daisy and Green Card all had it, but he lost it some point along the way. It peeked back a little for X-men Dark Phoenix, which was cool, but I'd love to see him score a movie in the style of "early hans" again...

I have been listening over and over to Batman Begins. There’s something about it that keeps drawing me back in. So I would say right now Batman Begins is my favourite Hans Zimmer score and not far behind is Wonder Woman 1984 and Bladerunner 2049. Although I also really enjoy his early years soundtracks as well. Lots of great music from Hans. I just find his Batman Begins so captivating and to think at first listen I wasn’t that impressed. It is the repeated listening that really made me truly appreciate it.

The same here: Regarding Henry (1991)

By the way, Kyle Eastwood played the bass. Perhaps it is not the best "dramatic" score by Zimmer (I'd choose The Thin Red Line on that category), but it is the Zimmer CD I enjoy the most.

This album, that he "overproduced" (but still is one my 10 favorite album of all time) and played synths on two tracks.

Yeah, not a big fan of Zimmer's works...
