I guess what this probably means is that the filmmakers want this one to sound like the other teen horror movies Beltrami's already done. --Not that he isn't capable of scoring something different, of course. I hope he gets other chances to stretch. On the other hand, suppose they let him try to emulate the score from the '76 version. Something more melodic, even romantic. . . . Nah. (What's the most-times-officially-remade movie in history, by the way? I'm guessing "Carrie" has quite a way to go still to top it, even if you count "Carrie 2" as a remake of sorts.)

Good luck Marco, but to beat MR Dinniogio's score from 76, might be like trying to climb Mount Everest. Possible but a long shot.

I would have preferred Powell too.

Does Beltrami have a monopoly over remakes, re-imaginings, prequel, sequels? Powell would have been nice. He also seems to have a monopoly on replacing John Powell (there's something suspecious about that; maybe an agency relation, or the composers suggesting each other). "Jonah Hex" "Mad Max 4" and now "Carrie"

He also seems to have a monopoly on replacing John Powell (there's something suspecious about that; maybe an agency relation, or the composers suggesting each other). "Jonah Hex" "Mad Max 4" and now "Carrie" And Powell seemed to have a monopoly of replacing Carter Burwell "The Bourne Identity" "Gigli" And I thought their was another one, but can't remember which one (but I could also be mistaken) Anyway, I think Beltrami will deliver a solid score for this one (just like Chris Young, Beltrami can score this stuff in his sleep). Looking forward to this one, but I wonder what Powell would have done with it!
