I'm also saddened to see Powell off this project too, but I know Beltrami will deliver Does this mean that Powell won't be scoring the new Paul Greengrass film either?

Why should Powell score any Pixar movies? I hope that is a BS! Why not? He'd be great!

Beltrami is a good medicine against spending money ... but that's just my opinion shame, I love Powell and the Carrie story I'll listen the Pino Donaggio's ...

Sadly both All you Need is Kill (Doug Liman) and Captain Phillips (Paul Greengrass) have been removed from Powell's imdb list, though thankfully The Good dinosaur (Pixar) and How To Train Your Dragon 2 remain. I hope nothing bad has happened to him, as that's quite a dramatic shedding of projects, all interesting ones as well. Then again, imdb isn't the most trustworthy source as we all know, so maybe he was never attached to these films officially, or perhaps he will end up doing them after all (except for Carrie, of course). Kraft-Engel Management still has "Captain Philips" listed for him. http://www.kraft-engel.com/clients/john-powell/

I miss the days when Hollywood would release movies based on Stephen King novels instead of nowadays movies based on Stephen King movies' box office return. Carrie is a King's book. Chloe Moretz said that this film will be much more faithful to the book than Brian De Palma's movie. Too bad that Powell isn't scoring it. Too bad, because even Stephen King admits that Brian De Palma improved his source material. No remake will equal what De Palma, his cast, his crew and Pino Donaggio did.

Why can they not leave old films alone and come up with new ideas for new scores?
