Awesome!

The last 1300 will be gone within the week, I predict

Do keep in mind a majority of our sales are front loaded and usually take place within the first 48 hours. After that its cricket city. (Think opening weekend Box Office)

This is on par with Trek V and Batman 1989 sales.

MV

Great point, MV.

Most people who want to own this CD will have ordered it within the first 48 hours. Especially with all the extra promotion done with the interviews, radio shows, JWFan, etc - pretty much EVERYONE who would want to own this CD knows about it. As opposed to a lot of other CDs where it takes a while for the casual fans of something to learn about its existence.

Received my shipping notification just a little while ago - thank goodness! Having to wait another couple of weeks for this gem would have been just...grueling.

Congrats on the success of this release MV, hope to see more Williams/Spielberg projects in the future.

I think all that is kind of irrelevant to those that see a fast-selling title as an investment. Those people definitely exist. I imagine the "less than 1300 left" motivated some who were holding off.

Didn't expect these to go so fast... but I guess if 1941 sold out, it's a no-brainer Hook would be even faster. Ordered both new releases, looking forward to them! Though I don't know if I could revisit Hook the movie... I imagine it would be very underwhelming. I'll leave it to the childhood memories and enjoy the music smile

Order Date: 03/27/2012
Order Number: lalalandrecords-48469

I didn't get any confirmation yet and it says 'This order is pending review.' on the order status page. Should I be worried?

I think they are waiting for the second batch/print to arrive. I think another week or two?

I have in my collection the Varese 50th anniversary deluxe edition of The Robe and I can say this new release has exactly the same number of tracks with the same duration and in the same order. The only exception are the last track on disc 1, The Story of Miriam, and on disc 2 a track entitled Audience with Caligula plus two bonus tracks , Prelude and Marcellus' Redemption at the end of the disc. With the exception of those four tracks everything else on this album is quite the same with the Varese recording. However Varese has become very rare to locate and in some cases sold out, so it is a good thing a new release has come for those who missed it. But in case you already have the Varese recording don't bother to buy this new one. Just a few minutes longer, that is all. Let those fans who don't have the soundtrack get this opportunity before it becomes scarce too.

I don't think this is aimed at anyone who already owns the Varese, but that was a quick sell-out over eight years ago (& only 1500 copies), so I think there'll be plenty of people wanting to buy this.

The question is...has there been any improvement in the sound quality on the LLL vs Varese release?

with the addition of the two new pieces, is there still any music missing from the Robe.

Does anyone know where this unreleased music was found?

"Hook" has arrived in my mailbox too!! As did "The Robe," "55 Days At Peking," and "The Fall of The Roman Empire."

It's nice to be a handful of miles away from La-La Lands offices!

Now I am off to give it a spin.

Really was hoping to get mine delivered Saturday but no luck there! I ordered both CDs 15 mins after they were posted but my order didn't ship until Wednesday. Oh well I guess they will be here Monday. USPS is always odd.

Yeah but at least your shippment isn't stalled at a customs office for the better part of a week and you have a postal service that delivers on a Saturday... We Canadians think we have the best of everything but sometimes we really don't... but in the grand scheme of things with all the troubles in life I don't think waiting another week or two for my copy of Hook to arrive is going to kill me!
