I beg you guys - ventilate the rooms more often. The suggestion is simple but frequently is ignored by folks. It's not an easy task if you have good European or German windows with reliable mechanism. I used wooden frame a year ago and it eventually stuck.

Our rooms need ventilating regularly but it's nothing to do with the virus, ahem, leave it there

Things I haven't done since the pandemic: Watched a dvd I have not seen before. Eaten French fries. Shopped in any store, except a grocery.

Latest annoyance: people who sit 18 inches away from the only door to enter/exit the bus. Yes, some seniors have to do it. It's the twenty-somethings with headphones on who are the irritants.

Has no one else noticed grocery prices going up?

I did not see a mask anywhere. Am I just an old fart, a party pooper? Nope. Just someone who thinks first, acts accordingly. Not too many who do that, as you've noticed, Ed.

Following on Ed's and Solly's post about July 4: I saw and a fair number of get-togethers when I went out for exercise. What I didn't see exactly is if they had masks on, or if they were likely to already be living together. I've gotten to the point where when I go out, I just don't want to look at people. I feel far too worn out from being disgusted at the apathy.

All because our governor reopened the state too quickly and also because of yahoos who think it's unAmerican to require people to wear masks. Welcome to Texas! Nothing happens to them if they don’t wear masks. Restaurants and bars can say, “No shirt or shoes, no service,” but they can’t enforce masks. Two more instances of Americans thinking they're cowboys.

Had a bit of a scare last week.... A week ago Sunday I came down with, let's just say, a gastrointestinal issue. The scare? I did go out for a birthday dinner with 2 other close friends to a restaurant on July 4th. Social distancing was followed, masks were worn, no one was anywhere near us and the waiter and staff had masks, etc. Having said that... As aforementioned, the following day and week I got sick. Not food borne, been there done that, know what's all that about. But then I saw that the new updated Covid-19 symptom list just got updated and what was added was exactly what I started experiencing. I had nothing else mind you, no fever or cough or chills or headache, etc. I could not get a covid -19 test as they are booked solid but I went to my doctor anyway and he felt it was NOT Covid-19 but acute gastritis as my symptoms were clearly pointing in that direction and I've it before. Antibiotics were prescribed and after 3 days of no change and I was getting tired at times and I was getting worried and began focusing on every single cough or sniffle. My doc told me to give it the weekend and sure enough by Sat afternoon I got back to normal and am doing fine. And no, I won't be going to anymore restaurants now, social distancing or not. Take out and groceries are my only things now as it was when it first started. The Covid-19 fire is fully ablaze. In GA about 10% of tests come back positive, hospitals are filling up to near capacity, whereas in AZ it's hitting close to 35% positive rate and Fl and TX are getting well up there too. Death rates have been touted as being low but it's being repeated over and over with a simple "Just wait".

Our state along with RI are the two lowest in new cases right now. I see this causing a lot more people to be out and about, some without masks. My 81 year old sister has COPD and told me she's been to the hairdresser twice and out to dinner. What can I say? I told her she was nuts but she insists the numbers are down so... I see this attitude and wonder when our numbers are going to start going up. For the record, I was a really late in life baby.
