Hi, Graham! Jim Phelps here—we’ve met a few times on the “Cheers!” Zooms—will you be gulping more of that “crazy” Scottish wine?

Aye aye, Jim - as long as it's still at 1.99 euros for a 750 ml bottle.

Hey OB & LL--y'all fare okay from last night's big wind & rain? I just had minor damage to a corner gutter drain, that was all. Thankfully. Them gusts sure had the freight train sound. Lots of tree debris in the parking lot where I work.

All is well. I sat on the front porch between around 10 and 11, sipping an Old Fashioned and watching the wind and rain.

Nothing major - the usual twigs and branches in the driveway. Glad you are OK! Will I see you on the next chat?

With all the hurricanes I’ve been through, I barely give tropical storms a thought.

Oh, wait: This macho post belongs over in the Hemingway thread.

Our city requests we limit our toilet flushing, showers, and that we do no laundry for the next two days while they go full Marx Brothers trying to repair the water and sewage lines, such was the amount of rain. We were fine, but neighboring houses have several inches of standing water in their back yards.

Thor will post a Zoom link just before the meeting’s set to start.

When you click the link and see Thor, expect him to look at you like you were a burglar in his flat.

9pm Oslo time is 8pm UK time, I think. I'm Oslo time so I can't be sure, but I do still phone me mum every week.

I do believe that we just go directly to Thor's link and then we wait until he deems us as being passable. Might be a bit hectic with the logging in and out every 40 minutes, but it'll mirror real-life chaos. Thor shall clarify the matter.

And Bill, it ain't no piss-up if you only bring tea. However, as Thor stated diplomatically in an earlier post, the piss-heads will just have to put up with the tea-drinking pansies... or was that the other way round?

Oh dont worry G, i can talk bollocks just on tea, dont need alcohol.
And i love wine. Its the migraine all day tomorrow thats the problem!

And Phelpsie, its quite possible when i went to Oslo that i was the burglar in Thor's flat. I burgled so many flats, its difficult to remember. I cant be trusted, i'll nick anything. smile

I am glad you are ok! I will miss seeing you, Thor, Phelps, Graham, and the other rapscallions on the Cheers! chat. Mr. Birri is apparently a kept man who will be able to join you whilst I slave away! And if Stephen is reading this, I'm working all weekend, too, so I'll miss that one. Mr. Stripes and Pyewacket will play the role of Lounge Laura as they are my understudies.

I don't think Stephen is reading this thread. Sorry we'll miss ya tomorrow, Laura!

I aim to pick up several bottles of Christmas beer tomorrow. Yes, it's a bit early, but they're in stores, and I'm kinda thirsting for a sip or two. Not too much, though, just enough to wet my appetite.

As usual, we should inform everyone what we're drinking at any given time.

There is a nice US Sierra Nevada Christmas Ale already in stores and flies off the shelf. Tis the season when Mr. Birri and I are into Jim Beam Preprohibition Rye.

I think of myself as being as American as baseball, apple pie, and senseless violence, but I’ve never “cottoned” to bourbon, that most American of liquors.
