I had another great time at the happy hour. Thanks to everyone for participating and to Thor for organizing. I think this was the largest Cheers meeting I have attended. I am looking forward to the next meeting. Also, great job everyone with the music. Let me know when you are ready to record, and I can clear my dog's schedule.

Great session last night. Onya, I think I managed to single handedly de-rail your brilliant topic about British composers as soon as I mentioned the Prisoner and we went off on another tangent! Sorry about that. I suspect the frequency of topic shifts increased along with numbers of drinks consumed Lovely to hear some great stories and meet a few new faces. There's always something fun and fascinating to talk about. Love it.

Yikes, I'm ridiculously hung over today. Not so strange, since I drank for 9 hours straight! There's a big plastic bag of empty bottles and cans in my hallway -- all from a single night! But loved last night's session. You're right that we were a bigger group than usual, but we're still nowhere near the amount of Stephen's meetings. I think there are benefits to both bigger and smaller groups, and I'm sure the numbers will fluctuate from session to session. I noticed that we occasionally lost a few people in the 40-minute breaks (Onya, for example, disappeared relatively quickly). It's tricky to balance the flow of conversation. There are some who'd rather not speak about films or film music, and there are others who ONLY want to speak about film and film music. So the trick is to get a little bit of both. I cut off the UK television composer talk after it had gone on for quite some time, because I know it's of limited interest to our Belgian members, for example. Vice versa, I had to cut the 'everyday banter' short a few times because I suspected newcomers like Bill and Jim perhaps were more interested in the film/music stuff. That's the way the cookie crumbles. In any case, the next meeting will probably be in early December. So be sure to bring your Christmas ales or other seasonal beverages!

Martin Sloane was mentioned. How popular was that show in the US? I am not sure that it made it to the UK. But the music I have heard is excellent.

To be fair i thought the balance of films/scores chat and beers/wines was about right. You guys touched on what you were drinking but it never dragged. Some of the guys are old friends from Stephen's zoom, like TG n Graham n Big Jim (Slade?) and erik ("Samuel L Bronkowitz presents...") Woods and Thor and Howard Lemmon so i felt at home, but it was nice to "meet" Thomas from football thread (who im gonna call Tommy Two Times like that guy in Goodfellas who says everything twice, coz when Thomas says something in his irish accent everybody says Pardon? And he has to say it again! Lol. ...and Onya the ennio fan and big shout out to phelpsie, who is a funny guy. Honestly if he ever rattles your crossbar on the forum with gentle ribbing, trust me, it is just banter. Hes a good guy.
