Did you get to talk to him?

Also, Doug Timm has got several credits on imdb, not just Nightflyers.

DOUG TIMM! I completely forgot his name (one out of MANY brain collapses during that session; I also said Sakamoto's "Donaggio collaboration" while I meant "De Palma collaboration", and talked about The LITTLE Emperor, somehow conflaing LITTLE BUDDHA with THE LAST EMPEROR). Yeah, he may have a few other credits, but NIGHTFLYERS was his 'one hit wonder', in a way, right?

I talked briefly to Zimmer, but he was -- understandably -- more occupied with talking to the other composers present (Doyle, Marianelli, Goldenthal).

I' m a bit curious about a couple of other features Timm did, but I guess NIGHTFLYERS is his only album.

I think your video show worked well and it's something you should consider doing for CT too, instead of the tired old podcast. Makes it more vibrant.

Yes, certainly something I will consider after this 'test run'. The podcasts will continue as usual, but this video thing could be fun once in a while, providing there are enough Norwegian viewers to ask questions (I could do it in English too, but it would become doubly challenging). And I agree, anything that is live is automatically more vibrant, including awkward pauses and occasional errors (like the ones I mentioned earlier) that you're unable to edit out in post-production.

Corona Beer ceasing production?

Are they?

Corona Beer ceasing production?

I read that too, Kev. But I think it's because beer-making is considered a non-essential industry, and the halt in production will be temporary. When they do get back to it I wonder if they'll have had to change its name. In a recent survey, 100% of teetotalers said that they wouldn't touch the stuff.

People are silly. Corona has never been a favourite beer anyway, but no need to avoid it because of its name. There are wines called 'Corona' too, and other things. It means 'crown' in Spanish, so should we also avoid all things associated with crowns?

I would also argue that beer (and wine) production is more essential than ever, with people locked in isolation. We gotta do SOME fun things once in a while, so as not to lose our sanity completely.

Yes, maybe.
Allow me to relay my (oft told) tale of why people (mistakenly) think it must be guzzled with a slice of lime.
When we where in olde Mexico town, many years ago, before the drugs cartels bought it and turned it into an adult Disneyland, a barman told us, locally, it was delivered with the limes, so that after delivery, to avoid any unwanted contaminations, the bars would use the limes to wipe the surface of the cans or bottles, to purify dead bugs or cat piss and whatnot, that might have lingered in the various holding places.
When exported, with the limes, with NO instructions what to do with the limes, it was assumed they were to be sliced and inserted into the tops of the drinks, to aid the taste (dead bug and cat piss taste optional).
True story dat.

He, he...cool story, Kev. Lime or lemon has nothing to do in a beer anyway. That's my opinion, and that's the truth!

I thought The Beach Boys started that crazy habit. (Not the shrinky habit - see previous page)

Shrinkage? What are you talking about?

It's a true story that a few weeks ago Corona was the only beer left in my local supermarket. Loads and loads of it, and no other beer left at all! I don't think I've ever tasted it.

I had 6 cans of Ye Olde Carlsberg and a couple of JD last night, and l plan to do the same tonight!

Usually at this time on a Saturday I'd be in the local watching the late match. Trivial I know, but I'm missing it.

Because of the link previously posted by Michael Scorefan; hopefully he'll fix it.

My kind of beer Michael. I managed to get another local brewery - Chantry - to deliver me 2 x 8.8 pint mini kegs of one of their stronger pale ales, 'Mighty Millers' (abv 5,5) last Friday. https://www.chantrybrewery.co.uk/our-beers/

Nice. Perhaps a little on the mellow side (I like 'em bitter!), but it's on tap and it's great. The mini kegs look like what you were describing as crowlers. But pretty much after my order they were out of these and only have bottles at the moment. This is fine, their Magical Hopster Tour (obviously some Beatles fans among the brewers) is another nice pale and they have it in stock. A twelve pack of that might be my next order, unless I decide to go for the Acorn Barnsley Gold again.

Decisions, decisions..

Link removed, so any shrinkage issues should be gone now.

Looks good Paul. For the mini kegs you order, how long does beer generally keep when stored in a mini keg? For microbreweries around here, it is recommended that tap beer that is bought in a growler be consumed within a couple of days of being poured. Crowlers are a bit more durable, and can last up to a month.

The mini kegs can last up to three months before being opened, but do need consuming within three to five days once opened. Should say that the latter isn't really a problem....
