I loved this score when I was 16 and was into ninjas back then. I even got a handwritten letter from sho Kosugi back in 1984! Listening to the music now as a 48 year old, for me, it hasn't aged as well as I'd hoped (as opposed to TD Thief and Sorcerer which I still love) but I'm happy that Varese was able to release this gem for fans of this score.

So both the Original Score and the LP program clocks in about 28 minutes.
Hope that it's not the same tracks, because what you hear on the LP is not the same versions as heard in the movie.

Revenge Of The Ninja
Music by Robert J. Walsh
Limited 1000 Copies

NOW SHIPPING

Due to a severe medical emergency Mr. Walsh will not be able to sign the 200 we had hoped for. Wishing him the best right now.

Varèse Sarabande presents the next release in our “We Hear You” series, Revenge Of The Ninja: Enhanced Edition. One of our most requested releases, this is available for the first time on CD. Produced and assembled by composer Robert J. Walsh, Revenge Of The Ninja: Enhanced Edition contains 18 cues from the original score which were transferred from tape. For the Enhanced portion of the CD, Walsh used a new analog transfer and a tempo map to bring an electronically updated, lush power to his favorite cues while enhancing the electronic music’s orchestral quality.

Revenge Of The Ninja is the second film in Cannon’s “Ninja Trilogy” (Enter The Ninja & Ninja III: The Domination). After his family is killed in Japan by Ninjas, Cho (Sho Kosugi) and his son Kane (Kane Kosugi) come to America to start a new life. Cho opens a doll shop but is unwittingly importing drugs in the dolls. When he finds out that his friend has betrayed him, Cho must prepare for the ultimate battle. Revenge Of The Ninja remains to this day one of Cannon Pictures best loved films.

Limited Edition of 1,000 copies.

So ordered... :-D

From what I can tell it is not the LP tracks but the original film versions of the score so I could'nt be happier.

I remember chasing down the Varese LP in 2005 from a fellow collector.

Bought this today and picked up the low priced Nighthawks while I was at it. Looking forward to both.

Creature Features is grateful to Rob Walsh for signing a limited number of Revenge of the Ninja CD's for our presentation tomorrow! So be in our dojo Sunday at 1 PM as I talk to director SAM FIRSTENBERG and evil ninja/ stunt coordinator STEVEN LAMBERT about creating the trend-setting cult classic, then get your Varese Sarabande CD so you can add their signatures to Rob's.

I remember the days when this wouldn't have lasted 24hrs.
Watched the movie again last night. Love that main theme. I can see why they used it again in Ninja III: The Domination

He's hanging in there. I must say he's a TROOPER for doing this at a very difficult time. He's so so touched by the love of everyone with this score. smile

Crazy expensive shipping fees to Italy; very sad but I can't pay more than 32 US$ for a single cd...

International shipping is being a problem for every buyer outside the US right now, but not really Varese Sarabande's fault. In the UK we also have problems with import duties and admin charges being added, although a single disc order might fly under the radar of that.

The only remedy in Varese's control is to abandoned shipped product all together and go download.

Yep, it's not something Varese or any of the labels can control. I traded CDs with a board member overseas and ended up paying as much for postage as buying the CD would have cost me.

It sucks but those are postal rates these days.

This one has always been my favorite martial arts related scores since it first came out. I was hoping that one day it would see a cd release and now we've got our wish. Cant wait to start playing it over and over in my car smile
