Did any of you notice that the British and Aussies had more sexy men on the list than Americans? Now I have just got to get to England to meet Tall Guy and Timmer and a few other from this board. wink

I'm gutted that this particular Brit just missed the list again

Unlucky, Mike - you've either got it, or you ain't big grin

Now that Ben's won this contest, maybe we can start discussing his work on the superb SHERLOCK series. The fact that this program is rarely talked about on this forum is a God damned travesty. SHERLOCK also boasts excellent scoring--it even has hummable THEMES--composed by David Arnold and Michael Price--yet there are no active threads on that topic, either.

No Daniel Craig on the list, I see. wink

guys 3,4,6
girls 1,2,7

The rest are ordinary at best.
The UK have a history of weird poll results.

Oh and Cumberbath, I would say is somewhat less that average.
He has a nice voice, but handsome, no.
I always thought it was very strange that anyone though Robert Pattinson was handsome, thin, with a pinched face and large brows, usually somewhat sneering, uh no.

PhilSon, we must get you to some movies. (Or some DVDs.) Cumberbatch, Fassbender and Hemsworth are all good actors. If I picked sexiest man, I'd pick Hemsworth after seeing him in Thor, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Rush. I think Fassbender may be our next Burton or Olivier. You might rent Jane Eyre where he plays a great Rochester. I'm old but I still try to see some good movies. At least try some DVDs.

Haha. If you saw how many laserdiscs, DVDs and Blu-rays I have, you wouldn't think I wanted for movies. Other than baseball and hockey games, and PERSON OF INTEREST, all I watch on my television set are movies. Plus, I got to see movies in a theater, all the time. Just not any of the ones you mentioned. I'm aware of the films you mention, but nothing about them appeals to me. Plus my main point is, people I see in films today, don't particularly interest me. I see scant few stars that strike me as stars, so I just forget them. Their names are meaningless. Still, I'm pretty sure I never saw a single film with any of those names I extracted from that list. I only ever saw Anne Hathaway in THE PRINCESS DIARIES because Julie Andrews was in it; and I've known her parents since I was 15! Although, I did just see Les Miz, last week, so that's two films of hers I've seen.

None of those women are "sexy" other than AJ. Most are average looking. There's better looking women strolling the local supermarket. Another "who's famous now" poll.

Mike_J, you made me laugh out loud. Remember I did say, "and a few others." I just couldn't remember every guy from the U.K.

Jim, I am glad you mentioned Sherlock with Cumberbatch. I may get the DVDs so that I can see this series because I've heard many great things about it. I've also reserved Parade's End through my library which features Cumberbatch and has good reviews.

Prematurely naming Emma Watson might confirm ageing pedophiles were a big factor in the voting. Cumberbatch? Pattinson? Next the Brits will be telling us Jim Parsons gets the juices flowing.

She's 23. Sounds like a personal problem.

I believe Sherlock also streams free if you have an Amazon Prime membership. There are only six episodes so you can get caught up in time for series three--whenever that comes out. The delay has been excruciating. wink

What? Sorry, but... what? Watson is in her twenties for goodness sake. If this poll had been in the early days of the Potter movies when Watson was in her early teens and just into puberty then that it would be creepy for guys over 15 or so to vote for her. But as it is this is a quite ridiculous comment, the sort of thing the Daily mail would run.

I'm not a fan of Watson but I have zero shame in saying that she has grown into quite an attractive young lady. That doesn't make me a pedophile (in fact I abhor pedophiles) anymore than me saying that I think Daniel Radcliffe is a good looking young lad makes me a gay pedophile.

I have no knowledge of many of the people on those lists.

How is this even possible? I know who all 20 of them are, and I've seen at least one movie where they appear.

Benedict Cumberbatch
Tom Hiddleston
Henry Cavill
Chris Hemsworth
Robert Pattinson
Michael Fassbender
Emma Watson
Kristen Stewart
Emma Stone
Zoe Saldana

It's possible, because I've no clue who these people are? I'm old. Nobody is a star to me, anymore.

This is just a fun, silly list.

Top 10 Sexiest Women

1. Emma Watson
2. Scarlett Johansson
3. Jennifer Lawrence

I don't know about fun, but I certainly agree that that positioning's silly.

ahem., joan, if you have any use for rugged one-eyed bandit who has bag of goldcoins and his own monogramed tobacco box, give me a shout.

ha ha. Dodgy list with some very ordinary lookers on.

I simply cringe at the thought that anyone, male or female, would think that Benedict Cumberbatch was the sexiest man alive. They probably thought that Woody Allen was pretty sexy too!

I agree with this. She was quite striking in Gravity!
