Where was DOT officially announced? At any rate if that is the case I will pass. I would pick up LOTO in a heartbeat.

Wonder if The Dark Knight Rises could be a possibility. LLL does love Batsy.

I'm actually hoping that the 8 disc set will be the definitive Dark Knight trilogy box set.

Not likely as the original albums are still in print and big sellers for WB Records, so WB Studio isn't going to license them to a smaller label for a long time.

I would LOVE to see Polar Express as a Black Friday title this year. With all the Warner Bros titles that LLL has had access to recently, this would make a great surprise. Here's hoping...

Their Facebook page is public. You don't need an account to view it.

The Tales From The Crypt TV series did feature an impressive roster of talent.
Unfortunately, the music budget must have been pretty low, unlike Amazing Stories, so most of the scores come out very sound-alike.
I've never been able to get through the old Big Screen/Giant CD because, despite the efforts of Horner, David Newman and Cliff Eidelman, they all feature that drony, limited synth sound.
The opening titles by Elfman are cool though.
The samples would have to be amazing to make me consider listening to 8 discs worth.

If they do 3000 of Tales from the Crypt at over $100 a set, it will likely end up remaining available through the end of the decade.

Yeah, 3000 copies of 8 discs for $120 and people think Tales from the Crypt is more likely than Erich Korngold's complete surviving works? No offense to TftC, but I don't see LLL doing more than a 4 disc set especially at that quantity...why would Crypt need that treatment when other quality TV stuff like Batman: TAS, Space: Above and Beyond, X-Files, and Star Trek (aside from TOS which had complicated rights licensing) hasn't?

How about a ROCKY set? Not likely, but it's my number one grail. A DYNASTY set would be cool too!

Just thinking about ROCKY. 5 discs for the unreleased ROCKY, ROCKY II, ROCKY III, ROCKY V and ROCKY BALBOA. Plus 3 discs for the soundtrack versions of ROCKY, ROCKY II and ROCKY III.

Yes, I do think TftC is more likely than Korngold. To put it bluntly, LLL is a label that tends to focus on scores from the 80s onwards, barring the occasional release of earlier scores. An 8 disk set is a fairly large gamble no matter what it contains and Golden Age scores are even more of a gamble these days. That's not denigrating the quality of Korngold's work or anything.

Plus MV recently corrected a list of TftC episodes that someone posted to include additional specials and the animated series. I can't see him teasing people like that (knowing what we're guessing on the board) otherwise.

I would love to see that Korngold set... maybe someday!

Chris.

Didn't Friday the 13th set only have 1300 units? I haven't seen anything that says 3000 units.

Hello fellow Conti fan!smileI also think a ROCKY set would easily sell 3000 copies for $120.

I know I'd buy at least one (and probably another one to stare at. Am I being too obvious?)

About eighty or so posts back, MV states…

We previously announced that the set was going to be $119.98.

It will be a limited edition of 3000 units
