Just f.y.i., some other composers for TALES FROM THE CRYPT, in addition to Conti, are Horner, Kamen, Broughton, Colombier and Silvestri! I'm really hoping it's TFTC.

did elfman do anything beyond the main title? the pilot perhaps?

I tend to agree with the above posters that Tales from the Crypt is likely especially given that MV was apparently looking into it some time ago. I'm struggling to think of what else it could be... the only other guess I can come up with is a box set of something like The Twilight Zone which also features a number of big name composers and could span that size of set.

EDIT: From the horse's mouth (LLL Face book page) "Approved

Is there any other word in the English language that is more beautiful than that word?

Well, right now, at this very moment -- in the hallowed offices of La-La Land Records -- there isn't.

Yes, Virginia...there is a Santa Claus.

After toiling on it off and on for nearly 4 years -- searching high and low for every scrap of music we could find and going through endless amounts of clearances -- our 8 disc Box Set is finally approved and off to the printers (and then to manufacture).

Black Friday 2013 can't get here quick enough."

Didn't MV first post about Tales from the Crypt in 2009 asking about which episodes were wanted? This seals the deal, to me.
Chris.

The reality is that there are a number of projects they have been working on for years, some of which were delayed simply because the studios (and sometimes cast members) take a long time to approve each and every one, so I don't necessarily assume "Crypt" is the set.

Gut feeling could be Days of Thunder for Zimmer. Would love that one.

Well, Tales From The Crypt sounds likely for the 8-discer - fits the timeline from when we first heard about LLL working on it and would justify 8 discs. Sounds like a real...NIGHTMARE come true for TFTC fans if true. Ahhhahahahhaa!!! 'K, that was my lame Cryptkeeper joke for this post. Me? I'm not familiar with any of the Crypt music beyond the main titles, but that's an impressive list of artists I've seen posted so far. We'll see come Black Friday what these 8 discs hold in store.

An expanded 2cd for The Thin Red Line (Zimmer) would be outstanding!
The sessions alone are over 5 hours.

or a complete Lion King! (but that's Disney so i guess not)

I'm actually hoping that the 8 disc set will be the definitive Dark Knight trilogy box set.

Wow - a premiere Elfman recording!! As somebody who owns all previous Elfman releases (except Black Beauty, now resolved due to LLL's expansion) I'd say this is the best-possible scenario, IMO - I'm sure Thor will agree on this as well wink

It's a shame that Taking Woodstock is apparently sitting, as it's a good score and outside of Elfman's usual wheelhouse. Hopefully this deal will provide new people with an appreciation for that album as well.
