I should also mention that there is a wonderful suite from the score arranged for Chamber Orcherstra by Mr. Shire himself on the CD Release DAVID SHIRE AT THE MOVIES that is well worth seeking out. Has anyone heard this piece? Ford A. Thaxton

One thing about "Return to Oz" is, it was blessed by having a gorgeous coming-soon theater poster, painted by movie-poster master, Drew Struzan. It doesn't show Dorothy or other characters, but Ozma herself, if I have it right. It's a knockout. Link below. http://www.impawards.com/1985/posters/return_to_oz.jpg That's a wonderful poster. Love the score. One of my favorite Shires.

Glad to see all of the love for Shire and this score in particular. I only know the score from the album, I haven't seen the film, but I've always been curious about it. I'd be interested in an expanded version, though, because what's already there is quite arresting. Also, the David Shire At the Movies album is a great recording and is worth having even if you have most of the scores represented.

Return to Oz will always hold a special place in my heart - not only is it a brilliant score, it was the first Bay Cities soundtrack release and how I became friends with David. He was one of the greats (and still is) and how producers stopped using him is criminal. But, never fear, Kritzerland is on the job - and a world premiere Shire is coming. Meanwhile, I have some copies of Return to Oz somewhere if anyone is interested.

The GORGEOUS Return to Oz suite on it is worth the price of the CD alone in my book. This should easily be in every collectors collection

"The Blue Yonder" (aka Time Flyer), please! hah. Just kidding. I know it's Disney. Nice companion score to Oz, I must say. Any Shire is an instant buy, regardless of the title. I look forward to the big reveal, Bruce -
