That's my understanding of the situation, when I've read the latest statements that are reported to be coming from the Maestro himself.

So I ask again, how is it that people are still being sold tickets?

That's how I read it Bill, which is annoying when I've got tickets for the Manchester one.

i would expect confirmation one way or another over the next few days/week, from concert organisers or management.

It is unfortunate that the whole translation thing makes stuff even more ambiguous than it should be.
As usual the whole thing is as black and white as an italian shrug.

Look here Carson, I was replying to the post directly before mine so when I said "not cancelled", I meant "not cancelled"!!

I have tickets for the 12 Dec in Dublin, I phoned the O2 there yesterday (or rather the 3 Arena as it's now known) but the girl I spoke to had no idea.

sadly, holding a ticket in your hand doesnt mean a lot where Morricone concerts are concerned.

Obviously I wish Ennio all the best for his health and so on, but this is one reason I wasn't as gutted as I could have been when I learned about a concert I couldn't attend. It would have been the Manchester one.

I just received a reply from Eventim. They are stating that the organiser hasn't informed them about a cancellation of the upcoming concerts.

I will call the organiser of the concert in Frankfurt tomorrow morning.

Well he is standing. Any mention about how well he is walking?

Rang Manchester this morning to inquire about the concert in December, I was informed that the concert hadn't been cancelled and as far as they were concerned was going ahead, and they've sold all the tickets.

So Morricone says "No concerts until the end of the year"

The promoters say the concerts are still on.

In the middle of this are us, his fans, who really don't have a clue as to what is really happening.

Personally, I don't think there will be any UK or Dublin concerts, at least that's how I read Morricone's announcements,
I guess all us fans can do is wait for some official announcement that finally clears this whole sorry mess up.

I called the organiser of the concerts in Germany. They are aware of the press release, but state that it's not concerning the concerts organised by their company. The concerts could just be cancelled due to health problems. They are in contact with Morricone and next week the public will be informed if the Maestro will conduct the concerts or if the concerts are postponed.

The only list was on this web site http://enniomorricone.org/under-costruction/

All the information that was on here has been deleted.

The only other list is here http://www.chimai.com/ under the section forthcoming concerts.

The week is over and there aren't any news about the concerts. I don't know if this is a good sign.

It's an absolutely ridiculous and annoying situation and I feel very sorry for anybody involved i.e. people who were hoping to attend any of these concerts.

Personally I'm not going to any of these concerts (even though Ennio Morricone is supposedly doing a Dublin concert in December) but it makes me mad because we were caught up in a similar situation in Italy a few years ago when we bought tickets for a Morricone concert that was scheduled to take place in Gubbio, Umbria. We bought the tickets, changed all our holiday schedule at short notice, cancelled some hotel bookings and then found ourselves in a horrible mess when the concert was cancelled at short notice! We frustratedly found ourselves rebooked into the same hotel in Gubbio where we had been a week or so earlier when the concert was unexpectedly announced and heavily advertised in the region, and with no concert to go to. Yes, we got our money for the tickets back but we had incurred a lot of extra travel expense which was a complete waste of time and hard earned money and we also missed out on visiting other planned destinations.

There was NEVER any explanation given by either the concert organisers or Ennio Morricone's management as to what the reasons were for cancellation. In my opinion there is contempt involved here once again and it's the good souls and enthusiastic music lovers who may lose out again. Even if these concerts go ahead you have to ask yourselves is it worth all the effort and stress in not knowing what's happening, the time wasted, and the good money going down the drain? I sincerely wish Mr. Morricone well for the future I and hope that his health issues are solved...but really!!!

Why is Morricone still trying to schedule concerts? His health seems to be telling him it's time to retire, and I doubt he needs the money. I wish I could've seen one of these concerts, but after experiencing two no-shows, there's no way I would ever book a holiday around him again.
