I had just bought my plane tickets to get to the Frankfurt concert.

I also had to pay 50$ shipping fee for the concert ticket (international).

Now what??

50 bucks? They couldn't send you a digital ticket?!

no, not an option.

Eventim even charges 4,90 Euro shipping costs within Germany and sends the tickets as uninsured letter for 0,60 Euro.

So, what now is the situation, can anyone clarify which concerts (or all) have been cancelled? A friend of mine who is due to attend the O2 concert in London rang O2 and they told him the Morricone concert was still going ahead? It's a bit confusing.

There isn't any official statement. There is just a newspaper article quoting the Maestro:

[...] "Sin dalla primavera scorsa - ha detto Morricone - ho dichiarato a mezzo stampa che nessun concerto da me diretto si sarebbe tenuto almeno fino al corrente anno". Il maestro ha anche aggiunto dell’l'imbarazzante situazione di equivoco che si è creata con alcuni organizzatori" che avevano comunque pubblicizzato gli eventi.

Google translator:

"Since last spring - said Morricone - I stated to the press that no concert I directed to be held at least until the current year." The teacher also added dell'l'imbarazzante situation of misunderstanding that has arisen with some organizers "who still had advertised the event.

Thank you JC for your reply. Yes, I had already read that article. I was just wondering in light of the other members comments here if the situation had moved on a little further towards clarification?

Yeah, if anyone knows anything definitive then I'd be grateful to hear it. I've got a ticket for Birmingham next month but don't know whether to expect it to go ahead or not.

As we all know - as much as we want concerts to go ahead - morricone is a notorious canceller and you have to buy tickets unsure if a concert will go ahead - no, with a high probability that it wont go ahead. There used to be a feeling among many collectors in the 90s that you could only be sure it would go ahead when he walked out on stage. Fair or unfair, that was the reality.
over the years there have been dozens of occasions where fans all around the world bought tickets for concerts that did not take place. They had it in america twice i think. Earlier this year morricone had this operation on a herniated disc and when you are in your mid- eighties, these things heal a lot slower, so the likelihood of him being well enough for an gruelling run of dates this year does seem unrealistic to me.
Although its early doors yet, there may be further announcements and he could easily change his mind or the organisers could still release a statement postponing the dates till 2015. Who knows. Its Morricone.

The concert page at chimai has been recently updated to include 25 concerts in 2015 starting in January in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The December 2014 UK and Dublin concerts have disappeared from the list. I have not received any tickets so I emailed Ticketmaster but they haven't bothered to reply. They don't seem to get it that people have to make transport and accommodation arrangements in advance.

Unless the whole situation is improving, these recent additions are surprising to say the least. But who knows...

The whole thing is messy. People are booking flights, hotels, they take day off work....

That list came from this website;

Which now appears to be under construction?

All the information that was on here has gone.

If the Maestro isn't involved in the organisation of these concerts then someone else tries to rip off the concert organisers. Let's hope that this case of fraud won't drive the concert organisers into bankruptcy. Concertbüro Zahlmann is organising five concerts by M° Morricone in December 2014 and three in February 2015.

I also hope people are smart enough to take the cancellation fee option where available when it comes to booking flights, hotels. I did so two years ago when I went to see Morricone in Antwerp, that concert took place but it easily could have been cancelled given his track record of that year. I still couldn't believe it until the day arrived, I was that skeptical!

I have finally received a reply from Ticketmaster: (Their spelling, btw, not mine.)

"This evenet is still on sale and there is no indication at the moment that it will be cancelled. If theer are any changes we will contact all customers as soon as possible".

I have replied stating that they should be more pro-active in investigating this matter and have copied to them the link to Morricone's statement re contacting his lawyers. Will advise any further reply but not holding my breath.

Asna article translated says:

No gigs until the end of the year. The great Ennio Morricone reiterates its break his concert due to health reasons, but pointing the finger at "embarrassing situation of misunderstanding" that has been created by "some organizers" who would otherwise advertised concerts with his presence, warning that he asked his attorney, George Assumma, to take "legal action."
"Since last spring - Morricone wrote in a note - I said, even through press releases, no concert I directed would maintained at least until the end of this year, because of my health which I have made ??public knowledge, exhibiting the clinical certification issued by the health facilities got where I was admitted. "
"Nevertheless - he continues - some European organizers have also made Note the run, which I denied, of concerts that should have been made ??with my direction, and in the year 2014 in the year 2015. I have heard - adds Morricone - these organizers would pay certainly not me, down payments or deposits consistent, in order to make sure my concerts. This embarrassing situation of misunderstanding has been determined by the attitude assumed by a company with which any entrepreneur my ongoing relationship of artistic writing had all but ceased since 2013 '.
then Morricone points out that he was "forced even to request and obtain from the Court Rome darkening of the site that, despite my clear and unambiguous denials, touting the concerts for 2014-2015. "He concludes:" In order to preserve my image and my personality I have now instructed the lawyer. George Assumma to take legal action both in Italy and in foreign countries concerned, it is found that my total lack of involvement in the planning of these concert

Can we, fans, also take legal actions? If they were not authorized to sell tickets for these concerts, that's clearly a scam.
