Well, he's 85 and, I hate to say it, not immortal. Most 85 year olds I know can barely walk, never mind give concerts.

Very sad. I had tickets for the Cologne Concert in Germany before they were postponed from April to June. Looks like the June concert in Germany will be canceled as well, right?

That's sad but not at all surprising. I had hoped to see him in NYC in March. When that was rescheduled for June, I decided to get a refund on the tickets and take the trip anyway. At least it encouraged me to experience NYC for the first time, which was a great place to visit.

I was most fortunate to see Ennio Morricone at his Radio City Music Hall concert in New York City in 2007. For my family and the very appreciative crowd, it was a musical triumph of film music! My wife and daughter were so impressed that they made me get tickets for the Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl concert as well, but that one was eventually cancelled. We still went out to Los Angeles, to visit my son, who lives there. Quite a few personalities in the soundtrack industry attended the "consolation dinner" most generously sponsored by Bruce Kimmel. What was the Chinese restaurant's name...something like a take off of Genghis Khan, or something like that. At that time, I thought those two occasions would probably be my only opportunity to see Morricone live. And only one of them was. Now fast forward to the "Morricone Farewell Tour" that was just cancelled. The program seemed pretty much the same as the 2007 program, with a few newer selections. To go or not to go. New York City would be easy. Brooklyn is quite an involved trip from Central New Jersey. I dillydallied and procrastinated long enough until the Ticketmaster website finally said that the concert was sold out. Time went by and I reconsidered and reconsidered. EBAY had a number of sellers. One fellow, in Staten Island, had an unresolveable work travel conflict and was selling his tickets not too much over cost. I wound up getting them. Then Morricone hurt his back and the concert was postponed to June. Okay, I had wiggle room in my schedule. It was going to be my last time to see him, so I didn't seek a refund. Now everything's cancelled. As a physician, I certainly understand the serious implications for an 85-year-old. You just don't bounce back from that kind of injury and the necessary surgery like you might years ago. I certainly hope for a full recovery for Ennio. God bless him as he recovers. But I am thinking that that 2007 concert in New York City was and will be my one opportunity to see him. Ron Burbella

What was the Chinese restaurant's name...something like a take off of Genghis Khan, or something like that. Genghis Cohen, on Fairfax?
