Why is Morricone still trying to schedule concerts? His health seems to be telling him it's time to retire, and I doubt he needs the money. I wish I could've seen one of these concerts, but after experiencing two no-shows, there's no way I would ever book a holiday around him again. From the Italian journal article posted above, it seems that people are scheduling concerts for him rather than the opposite. I'm sure other people make money in this process. "I'm sure other people make money in this process" Yes! That is the definite conclusion I also came to as regards the outdoor concert that was hastily announced for the Amphitheatre in Gubbio, and that we were suckered into, and I repeat the phrase "suckered into" purchasing tickets for. I even managed to get some of the posters, sic. We went to the concert site a week beforehand and walked all over the grounds. Even at that stage I could not for the life of me visualise or imagine how a large scale outdoor concert with massive staging, rigging, lighting, amplification etc etc could be put on at that venue, it seemed to me unsuitable for various reasons, and especially in the time-frame involved. On top of all that the site is situated just next to a busy byroad cordoned off by just a flimsy railing where maybe it would have been possible to stand and hear everything for free. I am completely convinced now that the concert was never going to take place...as it indeed transpired. To this day I don't know who was at fault or why, or what exactly the game was? Having said all that I have been lucky enough to see Mr. Ennio Morricone in concert on five occasions and I enjoyed them all. He is a great composer, conductor and the wonderful music speaks for itself.

With all 2014 cancellations, I wouldn't be so sure about 2015... I'm not sure at all, it just seemed to be our one and only chance of attending a Morricone Concert. If he cancels, we'll just claim a refund like we did this time.
