Sorry MV but I don't understand why the SCSE CD-3 of DRAGONSLAYER is a bootleg!? It would be great if you could explain that - DRAGONSLAYER is one of my favourite scores and I paid 60 Dollars for this CD. Thank you very much in advance smile

Simply put the rights holder of the score never had a contract with that SCSE nor was ever paid any royalties for this release on CD. Sorry you paid $60 for such a release, but them's the breaks. A lot of stuff that came out on cd in the early days were boots. You would be surprised. Kinda like now with download rights. Just because you have the rights on one medium does not mean you have the rights on another.

As I stated, the LP release was legitimate.

As for for other releases by that company I am not sure. They may have been legitimate.

The Supercollector Krull release was legitimate, but is now OOP.

MV:

Thank you for the honorary knighthood, but you may need to send the sword back to the foundry to correct my name spelling.

Mike

LOL. Sorry about that! In all the excitement I accidentally nicked your ear as you were being Knighted. It has been fixed!

I recall an FSM thread that corrected the tracklist of the previous Dragonslayer release. Apparently there were several errors. Hopefully those were taken into account with this exciting new version.

I assume Supercollector = SCSE?

I'm glad that the SCSE Krull's were legit.

Does anybody know if the Supertracks Krull is legit or not? I know soundtrackcollector.com says its a bootleg, but you never know...

I'll pick up Eraser for sure. If La-La Land's version has everything the foot-warmer does and hopefully more, I'll be more than happy to delete the foot-warmer.

No. SCSE = (Southern Cross) Soundtrack Collector's Special Editions.

They pressed 2000 silver and 750 gold discs.

And yet I have seen many copies with an empty space and no number (that is, they say "# ______ of 2,000").

Yeah, I should've written *supposedly* pressed...

Supertracks was Supercollector's label.

And sadly, no autographed copies of Eraser. We hope to catch Mr Silvestri on an off time for our next release with him...whatever that may be. smile

I have seen the same for SCSE silver Krull cd as well. The unnumbered ones could have been left overs used for promotional purposes.

It has been rumored for a long time that many more than 2000 silver SCSE Dragonslayers were released.

Overboard perhaps? Haha!! j/k (Though I would buy that one, actually.)

All of these great releases make somebody's day. Eraser is one of those for me. smile

OK got it, sorry for the confusion.

I'm glad my 2CD Krull is legit smile

For LLL's next Silvestri CD, I'm going to guess Mission Impossible Rejected or Fandango

BTW, why were Eraser and BTTF hyped on Alan Silvestri's official site, but Dutch wasn't?

M:I is pretty short since only a handful of tracks were recorded, so it would probably have to be paired with something. Though if it ever did see a legit release, I'd love to have it also include the arrangement of Schifrin's theme that Silvestri did for the film's trailer. (Which I believe was released on some compilation in the late-90s, but would obviously make a great bonus track.)

BTW, why were Eraser and BTTF hyped on Alan Silvestri's official site, but Dutch wasn't?

When LLL mentioned Dutch recently, I was under the impression that it wasn't supposed to come out for awhile longer, but had been bumped up to fill in for the other announced score that it replaced. So it was probably not set to be hyped on his website yet since it was (at the time) still some time away.

Actually you have it completely backwards:

Hmmm, Dutch is a much lower catalog number (1117) than other recent releases. Was it delayed?

Was supposed to come out last X-mas, but got delayed for other releases.

And the Silvestri-arranged MI Theme was on the Varese CD "Hollywood '96"

Ah, okay. I don't think I saw that. Thanks for the explanation.
