I also never knew the original CD of Dragonslayer was a boot.

This expanded release is incredible news!!!!

The score is a text book example of filmmusic as a true art form.

Thank you LLL.

Sorry MV but I don't understand why the SCSE CD-3 of DRAGONSLAYER is a bootleg!? It would be great if you could explain that - DRAGONSLAYER is one of my favourite scores and I paid 60 Dollars for this CD. Thank you very much in advance smile

Are all Southern Cross CD boots or are we are they boots for non-Australians? What is the issue?

DRAGONSLAYER is one of my remaining 4 grails. The number dwindles every few months! Now all I have left is Gremlins (Goldsmith), The List of Adrian Messenger (Goldsmith) and Spartacus (North).

Thanks MV!!!

Good news. Now if we could just get a re-release of the Southern Cross/Label X/Whatever They Were Calling Themselves At The Time BODY HEAT, which has always had the sound quality of a bootleg.

ERASER - Alan Silvestri's machismo oozing score comes blasting out at ya courtesy of our ongoing EXPANDED ARCHIVAL COLLECTION. The project was produced by your's truly, mastered by James Nelson and liner notes written by Daniel Schweiger!

DRAGONSLAYER - making it's OFFICIAL DEBUT on CD (that "other release" was a boot, sad to say) comes one of Alex North's last unsung masterpieces. Clocking in at over 70 minutes, Dragonslayer is chock full of some North's trademark tunes and delicious orchestrations. A must for any fan of the film or 80's film music!

Absolutely terrific news... you have my money on both of these releases, gentlemen. And as a child of the 80's, I can't thank you enough for DRAGONSLAYER!

Thank you for the honorary knighthood, but you may need to send the sword back to the foundry to correct my name spelling.

Sorry MV but I don't understand why the SCSE CD-3 of DRAGONSLAYER is a bootleg!?

If they didn't have the rights to release it, it's a bootleg. All the John Lasher labels (Southern Cross, Fifth Continent, Label X, SCSE) are a strange lot, since some of their releases are (apparently) fully licensed and legal, and some are… not. It seems he wanted to be legit, but when licenses were elusive, he never let that stop him.

Okay, that makes it clear to me. Many thanks Schiffy!

Another question:

My DRAGONSLAYER CD SCSE CD-3 has a golden sticker on the backcover which says "S.C.S.E. Gold Disc Limited Edition 244 / 750"

Here in Germany, everybody says it was limited to 2000 copies and everyone has one of the 2000 copies but I have one of the 750 copies. So are there 2750 copies out there??

FYI, my DRAGONSLAYER disc is golden with dark purple- print(ing) on it.

They pressed 2000 silver and 750 gold discs.

That's crazy if those SCSE titles were all bootlegs.

They pressed 2000 silver and 750 gold discs.

And yet I have seen many copies with an empty space and no number (that is, they say "# ______ of 2,000").

Yeah, I seriously doubt there are less than 3000 of those in existence. That's the beauty of "limited editions" - if you overproduce them, who knows?

Totally cannot wait for Eraser! I can't remember from the past LLL releases I ordered, but aren't they usually announced one week, then made available for order the following week? In any event, my credit card is primed and ready to go. smile

DRAGONSLAYER?! eek HOLY CRAP.

Michael, one question - were there any rights negotiations with Disney involved on that CD? Or does Paramount completely own that title now? I know the movie was a collaboration between the two studios...

Paramount owned
