Favour? Or just find the egg section in supermarkets is mostly full of brown eggs?

But we aren't that stupid that we eat the shells, we cook the yolk inside. Lol

I'm putting this under meat because it's practically meat....

A book I'm reading says that The Brits favor egg shells that are brown.

(Americans seem to prefer white).

Decades ago when I was young, British shops sold mainly white eggs. Over time it became obvious that the majority of people preferred brown eggs until it became difficult if not impossible to find white eggs. I have noticed a bit of a change recently, with some major supermarkets having some white eggs available. All the white laying chickens seem to have been exported to mainland Europe where people in France for example are perfectly happy with white eggs and brown eggs are difficult to find.

Another change over time is the size of eggs. They used to be sold as small, medium and large. Nowadays the major supermarkets only sell medium and large which annoys me because I always preferred buying small eggs. Small size eggs seem very common in America which no doubt accounts for them commonly having more than one for breakfast. I dislike very large size eggs which can sometimes be found - especially in country areas.

An overview of the situation that exceeded my expectations! Thanks.
