Five months since this thread was updated? We're slacking! I have no problem with a UNIT spinoff series. Just don't do any more spinoffs than two. I don't like what Star Wars and Star Trek are doing, with an endless glut of product. No word if there is any Disney involvement. Other than RTD mentioning in DW Magazine that they've already given notes resulting in either rewriting or shooting, with Davies saying it's normal, and was for the good....

RTD has also been quoted recently about there not being a kid's spin off likely. This is dispite a current celebration of The Sarah Jane Adventures, and the news of the first two of many spin offs being promised. The excuse given is they can't afford it! It's known now that a UNIT spin off starring Jenna Redgrave as Kate (daughter of Brigadier) Lethbridge Stewart is in the works. And a famous monster based series is strongly hinted. The only lamentable attempt at an 'adult' spin off was Torchwood, which I thought was considerably LESS mature than SJA of the parent show. Partly due to the lame addition of mild sexual behaviour and 'effin' and jeffin'. But, they should remember that for most folks outside Who fandom, Doctor Who IS a kid's show. Anyway, unless they're talking about the BBC not affording it, it seems an odd excuse when Bad Wolf are bragging about themselves and Disney ploughing cash into Who and those aforementioned spin offs.

Docto Who Twitter account building up to something. 'Tomorrow. Doom's Day is coming'. I am prepping for disappointment regardless. https://twitter.com/bbcdoctorwho/status/1637408639269969922 I get the impression that's just some multi media rubbish not to do with the actual continuing TV show. More to do with Big Finish at the most.

https://www.doctorwhonews.net/2023/03/doom_s_day_launched.html "Doom’s Day will kick off on Doctor Who digital channels later this year followed by products from Doctor Who Magazine, Titan Comics, Penguin Random House, East Side Games, Big Finish and BBC Audio, each telling a section of Doom’s story." which translates as "We know you'll want the complete story, just as you did with 'Time Lord Victorious', so we'll make loads of different products to squeeze as much money out of you as possible." I just concentrate on what is referred to as the Classic series, and even then, just the Blu-ray Collection box sets. That's all that interests me. I watch the news stuff, but mostly out of curiosity.

The award-winning actress and singer Jinkx Monsoon is to join the cast of Doctor Who. Monsoon is a winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race and has recently completed a sell-out run in Chicago on Broadway. Russell T Davies, Showrunner said: In a galaxy of comets and supernovas, here comes the biggest star of all. Jinkx Monsoon is on a collision course with the TARDIS, and Doctor Who will never be the same again! Jinkx Monsoon, said: I’m honoured, thrilled, and utterly excited to join Doctor Who! Russell T Davies is a visionary and a brilliant writer - I can’t wait to get into the weeds with him and the crew! I hope there’s room in the TARDIS for my luggage. Doctor Who returns in November 2023 with three special episodes with David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor to coincide with the 60th anniversary. Ncuti Gatwa’s first episode as the Fifteenth Doctor will then air over the festive period. Doctor Who will premiere exclusively on the BBC for the UK and Ireland. Well judging by the lack of activity in here, you're all as excited about the next season as I am I'd much rather have some missing episodes to be honest! I am actually excited about the new season....or hoping there’s some sort of return to form. I guess I don’t want to get my hopes up and taking more of a “wait and see” approach. I'm going to adopt an wait and see attitude towards the specials and the new season. By the way, does the Disney agreement start with the three specials or the new series itself?
