I know some of you don't like this era but I thought there'd have been more interest in the finale in four days' time given Ace and Tegan are in it.

Plus I have reason to believe that Colin, Sylvester and David Bradley will show up. File that under speculation! Plus, I'm assuming that David Tennant will appear at the end.

Amazon has most of the modern Doctor Who series at a huge discount on Blu Ray if anyone needs to fill in their collection. I may grab series 8, I got everything else I wanted.

I'm sat here waiting for the episode to start. i think this is the longest episode since the Five Doctors (90 mins).

1st Doctor
5th Doctor
6th Doctor
7th Doctor
8th Doctor
pre-Hartnell Doctor
Graham, Ian Chesterton, Melanie Bush, Jo Grant

So pleased that Colin, Sylvester and William Russell finally appeared in proper Doctor Who after such a long gap. Way overdue!! smile

I enjoyed that. One of the best Jodie episodes I reckon.

First episode of Dr Who I haven’t hated in a long time. I thought Whitaker’s send off was well handled and was surprised and relieved there wasn’t any pointless lesbianism shoehorned in.

I watched the first few episodes with Whitaker then gave up. Haven't watched another Doctor Who episode since. Really don't care at this point. Technically I gave up somewhere in Peter Capaldi's run as the Doctor. I just didn't like him and thought he was the wrong actor for the role.

It will be a while until I see the episode. I wait until HBO Max screens the episodes, as I don't have cable. I for one enjoyed Capaldi's Doctor. His final episode is such as heart moving story.

Never been a fan of the Whitaker Doctor - not because the Doctor was female but because I always felt as if Jodie was trying to channel David Tennant. And the poor writing.

I did watch The Power of the Doctor and....wow! On so many levels.

I can forgive plot holes and contrivances with a story that hits me in the feels - as it did on a number of occasions (none of them to do with the current Doctor)...

And that ending.

Geronimo!

Shouldn't the topic be changed to old doctor who, now? smile

I kinda dropped off after Christopher Eccleston departed. I watched on and off until Rose left (which broke my heart) but after that the self-aware cuteness got to me. It was sort of the opposite feel of the classic series. The original run LOOKED cheesy but was usually played straight other than the Doctor himself. The continuation, on the other hand, looked great but the STORIES were cheesy.

I don't know if that's changed, I never felt the interest to go back and resample. Not enough hours in the day to spend on TV I don't enjoy.

Doctor Who rebrands to an updated version of the diamond logo.

Outside the UK it will only be available on Disney Plus.

I'd say their vision is identical so they'll make good bed fellows.

Yes, i posted about that on another forum. It worries me. What on earth do they mean?

I really don't want Disney getting their hands on Doctor Who. I don't want them doing to Who what Disney did to Star Wars - making a glut of product, so much that everyone loses interest and the idea of something new just doesn't seem special anymore.

Yes, I think that's their Disney Masterplan. Worthy of Mavic Chen. LOL

I wonder how that will affect the physical releases?

Will they want to control that as well?

Ian Levine on Gally base:

"Channel Five have indeed made a documentary called "Doctor Who - Secrets And Scandals" I believe it's ninety minutes long. Both myself and Waris Hussein are on it"

Well there's no shortage of material for scandals but I'll be astonished if they find any secrets

Take your pick from

Barrowman
Clarke
Katy Manning's nude photoshoot with a Dalek
Colin Baker quitting
JNT vs DWB
Saward vs JNT
Fandom vs Pip and Jane Baker
Gary Downie's wandering hands
Doctor In Distress
1985 hiatus
1989 cancellation
Hartnell racism
Blackface
Yellowface
Sophie in the watertank
Eccleston leaving
Paving slabs
Tom and Lalla
and more.

Five months since this thread was updated? We're slacking!

I have no problem with a UNIT spinoff series.

Just don't do any more spinoffs than two. I don't like what Star Wars and Star Trek are doing, with an endless glut of product.

No word if there is any Disney involvement.
