I'm a lifelong movie fan, but most modern films are un-watched be me. And some popular films that I haven't seen because I just didn't fancy them:
Easy Rider The Exorcist Darling All the President's Men Raging Bull Rebel Without A Cause Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Giant Cabaret Klute Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Reservoir Dogs Shampoo Woodstock Jackie Brown Rosemary's Baby Eyes Wide Shut Singin' in the Rain Blade Runner High Noon The Apartment The Best Years of Our Lives Nothing by Tarkovsky/Wajda/Fassbinder/Bergman/Almodóvar/Fellini/Spike Lee/Coen brothers
I could go on & on (thousands of 'em). I am a big film fan, I've seen thousands of films, honest.

I arranged Rameau's list in release order. I've seen all but one film on the list (DARLING). Of the ones that I could have seen first-run in the theater (those below the line), I saw four. All the rest were seen on video or in revivals. How many of these films could anyone have seen after their runs if not for video/cable TV? There was a time when at least one of the three major networks had a film on every night of the week. Broadcast TV has almost completely foregone films, except for some Disney films and holiday showings. But honestly, how could any broadcast network be expected to show RESERVOIR DOGS or EYES WIDE SHUT?
