A note for fans who are already familiar with the Hog Chase cues - the deluxe versions both have a clean ending and beginning, rather than the two parts being conjoined/crossfaded as presented on the original album. While I’m never normally one for supporting cues being linked together unnecessarily (there’s a gap between them in the film), this is a rare exception where removing the dead air between them improved the listening experience. I’d never listen to part 2 in isolation, and a rip of the original album tracks as a merged track will likely remain my go-to version. Those familiar with part 2 may also notice subtle changes in how different sections of the cue are edited together - we’re only talking milliseconds difference compared to the original album version, but it’s noticeable and may take some getting used to. If you’re not already familiar with the cue, this point is moot, and everything aside, the Hog Chase cues remain two of Powell’s best-ever tracks which get frequent air time - this likely being the reason the changes are noticeable at all.

I don't think Hog Chase parts 1 and 2 are assembled together on the original release either. Part 1 has a clean ending and goes to digital silence. There's just barely any gap between the two parts on the original release and a very lengthy gap on the Deluxe Edition.

I agree with Roger.

I like this release. Just got it today and there's almost double the amount of music, and some of it is quite noticeably 'new' smile

Has anybody else experienced trouble with the first disc? I can't play it on any system...There always appears 'not playable'...

No problem with mine, but I only ever "read" and ripped it in my (12 y.o.) computer, I haven't got a standalone CD player anymore (which I regret).

Got my replacement disc and have been enjoying the hell out of it! What a fantastic score, a real revelation for me as I never bought it when the movie came out. I was not the Powell fan I am now but boy, this is like an audition for a Bond movie. He really is one of the few remaining melodists and a great action writer. Excellent stuff. Thank you Varese.

There's an unusually long gap between ALL of the tracks on this DE for some reason - to the point of harming the listening experience IMHO. At some point I might go in and shorten those gaps.
