Well that's a matter of opinion and all that matters is whether the description fits for Doug. I know this is a score he particularly likes; as I understand it he's the one who recommended to Lukas that FSM fill out their Patton album with this, many years ago. However that necessitated leaving off a chunk of the score so maybe Intrada is finally releasing the whole thing complete!
I somehow had never seen or heard "The Flight of the Phoenix," but it sure fits: exciting credit sequence, great music, and Frank De Vol being a multiple Oscar nominee with no wins.

Sounds about right. Doug once told me, back in the eighties (around 1987), that The Flight of the Pheonix was one of his favorite scores and that he'd love to release it on his label. I'd venture a guess that he'd want to release a definitive edition (and considering that it was released two decades ago, an expanded edition is in order).
I agree that it is probably something by DeVol since that is the first name that Roger Feigelson put on his list of upcoming composers - and he fits in with the Doug Fake clues.
If it is FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX, I'm glad there are still more Fox titles coming out.

Could be but that list Roger gave is tentative, not definitive in terms of release date. This all depends on approvals by the studios and those at the current time are taking longer than in normal years which is why La-La Land's titles have been delayed as an example.
Hopefully the guessing game will end and we'll see the approved artwork and go ahead and buy this title.

Never heard of it? Surely you've seen the ST-Voy ep 'Rise', completely cribbed from 'Flight of the Phoenix'. Another truly great Tuvok/Neelix ep.
I think 'in-the-know' Yavar has confirmed this one.
Well, Roger said the following:
Well nothing is predictable, but we're hoping for more stuff by DeVol, Kamen, Goldsmith, Eflman, Williams, Goldsmith, Bernstein, Folk, Goldsmith, Poledouris, Zimmer. But who knows...things change rapidly!
And DeVol is practically the first name he drops. So...
Yeah..it probably is DeVols FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX Cause everytime one title here on the forum gets mentioned more than three times ...thats it. A great MainTitle and awesome Opening sequence. Well we had it already so...not for me. But get it if you haven't. If it is indeed the PHOENIX of course
