Is there anything on the 20th anniversary edition that isn't on the LLL? I have both, just wondering if I need to keep the 20th in my collection, or even listen to it on occasion for different takes or anything...
I don't THINK so? Because I think all of the alternate takes are on the LLL.

Aside from Inside Star Trek, everything musically presented on the 20th Anniversary CD is part of the LLLR Release.
The LLLR release is remixed and remastered from the Analog backup 16 track masters and remixed from there, and it sounds absolutely fantastic.
It also includes the original LP contents from it's original master, as well as an abundance of amazing alternates and isolated excerpts, as well a "Star Beyond Time" and the jazz promo version of the main theme, a rather fun reminder of the late 70s.
IMHO, it is definitive as a release and the only release of the score you need.

I will also add that in a way it saddens me to see the release sold out, as it means there will be fewer opportunities for others to discover the score in this presentation.

Yes, it is indeed an wonderful set, the LLL. This score, believe it or not from a film music fan, took some time to grow on me over the years, but by the time of the LLL release I was quite into it and it is undoubtedly one of the greatest single presentations of a classic score on CD. I suspected that any alternate takes from the 20th Anniv release was represented on the LLL, but I wasn't sure. Maybe I'll still keep it for the disc 2 Documentary material...
