TOMBSTONE- initially to be scored by Goldsmith, sapped by a schedule conflict...93 was busy. He got the logo in at least- that first in can be heard on the excellent 2cd Intrada edition of Bruce Broughton's score.
Speaking of Goldsmith logo themes, what about Universal? Was that recorded with The Mummy or does it go back further than that?
EDIT: NVM, I found out it first appeared before The Lost World which explains the percussion sound on the original version--Jerry was favoring a really pitchy snare sound at the time with his LA recordings, noticeable in The Edge, first contact, and Chain Reaction.
The synth patch on the original version of the Carolco logo sounds exactly the same as the synth Goldsmith used on First Blood P2, which would make sense as that was their first huge blockbuster.
Who composed? Was that Goldsmith?? That C2 logo theme beat is sick
Cinergi Logo is Goldsmith. C2 Logo sure sounds like Goldsmith. You can still hear the shades of Rambo as well as the Judge Dredd Trailer. If it's not it's one of the best Goldsmith sound alikes I've heard. Can someone confirm?
Never heard of that -- what year? And do you have a link to it?
I'm still trying to find the CBS Eye logo with Jerry's music...
Yavar
Hi Yavar, Yes this is a little known fact. I remember being told by Lois Carruth who I was friends with telling me Jerry was recording the Logo for PHOENIX PICTURES. That date I cannot remember. But it is on the pictures produced by this company.
You can find a listing in the BMI repertoire under Jerrald K Goldsmith published by Sony/ATV songs
I think I have a recording of CBS EYE (Goldsmith) it is very short
