Does anyone know when the Carolco logo theme was composed and first used? Thanks.
It was first recorded in London during the FIRST BLOOD PART 2 sessions (it uses a fraction of the Rambo theme and synth ostinato), although that version (on the Intrada 2016 album) lacks the "whooshing" wind effect (I actually prefer it without this effect though).
I am one of the resident Goldsmith-could-do-no-wrong folks, but I much prefer Horner's Universal logo theme to Goldsmith's. Horner's theme puts you in the mood for a great movie, Goldsmith's sounds like you're about to go to war!

I like them both. Horner's is more wondrous. Goldsmith's is more heraldic. But I remember when Jurassic Park The Lost World started and that fanfare came on for the first time... it did make me sit up in eager anticipation of what was to follow.
