You may have understood perfectly, but my god did you whine and carry on about it. There's nothing worse than playing the grieving Italian widow when you don't get stuff you already have. Still, my point stands.

Your point being that you're a troll.
I complained once or twice. People inquired about it, so I explained my complaints. That's not "whining" or "carrying on." You seem to understand English, yet you can't grasp this and prefer to repeatedly mischaracterize what (and why) I wrote. If anyone is "carrying on," it's your attempts to provoke me. Knock it off.

My posts are merely a reaction to what has been presented. You are far too easily provoked, even when someone agrees with you. This is especially true in this case when I felt that you were treated unfairly but reacted childishly--hence your username, I guess.

However you choose to reply--if at all--I will accept as the last word on this subject. I hope you enjoy your CDs, regardless of their point of origin. smile

While I was put off by your reaction to being disqualified, it doesn't change my view that you were royally screwed over.

Here's hoping that next year's giveaway isn't such a dumpster fire.

Hey, all the one-day-wonder FSMers who entered the contest have disappeared since the winners were announced!

Where did they go? smile

They're circulating petitions demanding HBO remake the last season of GOT.

I've been away from this thread for a while. What's going on? Is Christmas really over for good?

I was hoping this thread would die out but since it was bumped I'll take this opportunity to explain why I did what I did in greater detail.

First, I hold no malice in my heart for anyone on this board or this planet. Least of all individuals who share my love of movie music/soundtracks. I wasn't trying to be unfair to any member here. I do these contests every year because I enjoy it and it gives everyone here a chance to participate and just have a little fun at Christmas time. Other members have offered give-aways as well and I applaud them.

I chose to remove LC's name from this contest because he stated in his first post (now deleted) that he already owned these titles and was hoping to win another in case something happened to the ones he had. To win a "back-up" copy, if you will. I found that a little off-putting, that's all. I wanted these titles to go to a member who did not already own one.

Far too much was made of the fact that I did not make it an up-front rule that you couldn't already own the titles in order to participate. Well, I didn't think I had to. Common courtesy and decency should not have to be mandated in my view. Removing LC from the contest was a decision I made after the fact. Call it an Executive Decision if you like. This was my contest and I didn't need anyone's permission to run it the way I chose to. It's entirely possible that other members already had the titles in their collections but they didn't say so. If they had I would have dismissed their entries as well. If you consider that to be unfair then so be it. If I choose to participate in another member's contest where he's giving away hundreds of dollars worth of CDs I'll abide by any decisions he cares to make whether they are printed up front or not. In my contests I ask that you abide by mine.

Secondly, in another thread my honesty and integrity were half-jokingly called into question when I revealed the names of the three winners. It was said it looked "suspicious" that only some of the more well-known members had won and not any of the less-frequent posters. I ask only that you take my word that the draws were done fairly. I put all names into three separate bowls, mixed them up and asked my girlfriend to pull one name from each bowl. Perhaps next year I should film the event if I have the technology on hand. smile

Alright...I've spoken my piece. Let this thread die already so more interesting topics can rise to the top.

Board moderators...feel free to lock this thread so that it may fade away.

Happy New Year!

-Adam-

Re: next year

I request, no I DEMAND, that only regular posters be eligble.
I suggest Threshold of one post , minimum, per week. Plus, at least one thread start in the last 12 months.

Loyalty should be rewarded, dammit!

Hey Adam, bubbe...we love you! No need to justify your wise decision.
Seriously!
