Regarding OBSESSION, I've owned the score on LP and three different CDs (one is a rerecording), so of course I've ordered a copy of this "new and improved" one. I've also owned the film on VHS, laserdisc, MOD, DVD, and Blu-ray. Couldn't resist as well, and that is despite the unaltered booklet. The sound was great on the previous issue, but I'm always in for any improvements when it comes the Great B.H. Seconded on both these posts. I went for years finding myself spellbound by this score on LP before I finally got to see the film in the early days of VHS. A reviewer from Variety or elsewhere was quoted on the LP jacket: "Herrmann could make blank film compelling." Yes. Electrifying! At several key moments, the music becomes so tense and unhinged that you CAN'T resist identifying with the Robertson character.

Brother, I'm just rolling snake eyes all over the place. Was planning to order the Herrmann over the weekend from Intrada, when I found out this afternoon they sold out of their allotment already. I skated quickly over to SAE, saw they had more than fifty available and felt I had another day or two at least. Nope. Three hours later, all gone. I don't really care about missing the Goldsmith at VS so much, but this one stung. _________ MovieMusic still had it, so I placed the order with them. Saved a little bit on shipping vs SAE, though I would have leveraged it by ordering more titles either there or Intrada. I'm not familiar with MM, so this'll be a test order for me.

Haven't you seen VERTIGO....DIABOLIQUE?"

Hi, M. Harper. One can still order Obsession directly from Music Box, as well. Hey Z.S. Yeah, direct from MBR would have been more of a last resort for me, with the >$10 int. shipping to the US. And if that were the last resort, I think I may have just passed altogether and looked for a deal a few months from now on ebay for a used copy.

Maybe some praise for the other releases? Camille Claudel is a great Yared score and Swoon is without a doubt Méchaly's best score to date. Fans of beautiful orchestral music should pick this one up. Great stuff by Music Box as usual.
