According to online time zone converters, 21:00 (9 PM) Norwegian time equals 15.00 (3 PM) New York time.

Sorry I missed the chat. I will try and make it next time, with beer in hand.

A couple of breweries near me have sold some limited beers inspired by the pandemic. An Oakland brewery had a limited release called "Stay the F*** Home". Another brewery produced this, which I tried tonight:

Overall, a pretty decent IPA. It is now sold out, so I don't know that I will be able to get any more.

Anyone else seen/heard any drinks where you are tying into current events?

I was late in joining last night’s meetup, but the 90 minutes I got were a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who participated, and to Thor for organizing.

Was going to join again but it went clear out of my mind after a bottle of red.

So what's your excuse for tonight's? Oh, and everyone who mentioned it is right - we had a terrific party at Thor's. Cheers to all.

Tonight I shall be partaking of a mixture of 1906 beer (Made in Galicia) and a nice red wine from Leon, of the Mencía grape variety. Its bouquet leaves a saffron perfume aftertaste on the epiglottis, a hint of sweet exoticism when sommiered in the correct sniffy way. A perfect companion to meat, fish, seafood, crisps ("potato chips") and beer dishes.

Oh yes, I'll host a new one in a week or two. Meanwhile, let's just keep our "Cheers" business running as usual, with normal posts about weekend activities and alcoholic beverages. I don't want this Zoom-meeting business to lose our Jim Phelpses and Michael Scorefans and Thomases and paulhicklings and Kev McGs and Last Childs and whoever is a regular here, and not necessarily hot on video conferences.

Yes, yes and yes! Where are those camera-shy creeps? C'mon - what's your poison? Jim Phelps is on one of his sabbaticals, but let's hear more from Mike Scorefan, Thomas, Pauline Pickles, Kev McG, Last Child etc.

My friend Andrew Fulton is the head of Orkney Brewery. Its beers are splendid and are shipping out. New ones are appearing all the time. I'm proud to be Andrew's lifelong friend, and proud to have helped stir the brew myself back in about 1990 or something. Do you know the Orney Brewery? I would post a link but I am in my spaceship and thus do not have my cutter and paster system operative.

For my birthday this week (I was 55) I was bought a bottle of...The Infusionist Small Batch Caramel & Hazelnut Rum Liqueur.
It's known, in my inner circle, that I'm a sucker for strong, sweet whiskey/brandy/rum liqueurs.
This one reminded me of Ron Miel Honey Rum, which I often partake of when I'm with my canaries.
It's only 20% in strength though, so it doesn't knock me out right away, like my favoured Benedictine (or Glayva), which are 40% and have me dancing the loolah to bed in quick smart time.

Happy 55th Kev! Have some toast! Lang may yer lum reek! Can't think of a more appropriate occasion to say "cheers", and to imbibe in your honour.

I finished a bottle of that off myself last week Kev. (Happy birthday!) I thought it was far too sweet on the first sip, but it wasn't long before we found our stride smile

Yes, thanks for the Friday meet, guys. I got extremely sick after I hung up, and I've been in poor shape ever since. Now I need a week to detox. Don't know if there will be one next Friday; let's not overdo these. Plus, there's always Stephen's meetings. As I've said before, I prefer these small 'pub' gatherings with just a handful of people. So -- I'll do the same next time, whenever that is, i.e. post a link the day before.

Michael, I'm not aware of any beer that has taken our current situation into their branding (outside the Corona beer, obviously, which unwittingly became an unfortunate 'victim' of this whole thing). That's quick and creative thinking on their part!

Belated happy birthday to Kev!

Take care of yourself, Thor. Remember to hydrate while drinking. It makes all the difference in the world.

Coconut water before bed works wonders.

bigjimwilson and TG, Aldi have got those rum liqueurs on offer for £5.99 a bottle.
They also had a Chocolate/Orange flavour rum liqueur (I bought two bottles, just in case) and a Cranberry, Pear and Cinnamon flavoured vodka liqueur, that Carole drooled over, so I bought one of those too.
We sat in the garden earlier and polished off a few glasses in the sun (she added a dash of tonic to her vodka over ice drink).
Me, I blasted through 3 glasses on the rocks in quick smart time and I've got a suitable bank holiday buzz on right now.
Get them while they last.

Not sure where I could buy coconut water. Never something I've looked for in grocery stores, and not even sure they have it over here. I'll have a look next time I'm in the store, thanks for the tip. But yes -- hydrating while boozing is necessary!
