I learned how hard it is to write a dictionary from scratch overnight thanks to the Samuel Johnson episode.

"A ...impersonal pronoun, doesnt really mean anything" wink

And what was Baldrick's definition of C (sea)? - A big, blue, wet, wobbly thing?

Yeah, "where mermaids live".

When Carson first watched the show, he didn't realize it was a comedy:

" Dear BBC Producer

I want to object in.the strongest most possible way to your libelous portrayal of the Duke of Wellington.
He never treated his subordinates in the dastardly way presented in your program BLACK ADDER.
This was just one of many historical inaccuracies.
I demand you issue an immediate apology to our brave soldiers.
The Army, " It's a Man's Life".

Corporal Wlliam Baldricki Carson, ret.

"From the Supreme Commander, Allied Forces Europe. Sir, Prince or pauper, when a man soils a Wellington he puts his foot in it. P.S: This is not a joke. I do not find my name remotely funny, and people who do end up dead. Close bracket. I challenge you to a duel tonight at 18 hundred hours in which you will die. Yours with sincere apologies for your impending violent slaughter, Arthur Wellesey, Duke of Wellington." big grin

Carson also wrote a letter to BBC complaining about the finale:

Dear Sirs,

I would like to express my deep disappointment with the last episode of BLACKADDER, " Byee".
The ending was inconclusive and confusing. Did the soldiers survive? Were they injured? Did they succeed in a glorious victory over the Hun?

Please let us idiots know.

Wm. Carson, MBE

Funny.
In the USA the term " welch" AND " paddy wagon" are still commonplace.

I guess the SJW- VS crowd only care about insults aimed at non-White males.

Lol!

BLACK ADDER

Blackwater: Sorry sir, I have bad news about your fiance
Colonel: Don't tell me she's Welsh?!

One thing PYTHON and ADDER have in common is they both mercilessly ridicule Scotsman at any opportunity.

Wassup with that?

My surname - Price - is Welsh.

However, the name can also indicate German origins. My wife thinks this is correct in my case because I have a big square head.

Blockenkopf ?

Some say I look like Peter Schmeichel. I looked him up and have to agree, except my once-blond hair has gone dark now. And I've got a bit chubby.
