The name the maternal side of my family is Vaughan, so have Welsh blood, and as mentioned on other threads I've holidayed in Portmeirion and Cardiff, plus Cilan visiting nearby near Abersoch, Pwllheli and Porthmadog. I've ridden the Ffestiniog railway, and visited Caernarfon and Harlech castles. More appropriate to the 'other side' I always visited Cob Records in Porthmadog for their reasonable soundtrack section. Got my first copy of Vertigo on vinyl from there, in fact two - one for my soundtrack collecting mate back home.

Beautiful day...no6! "Showers later!" Yeah, a great place. Whilst in The Prisoner club, Six of One, I holidayed there from the mid to late eighties. The convention over the weekend and the rest of the week as holiday. Great base to explore other parts of Wales, but nothing beat the feeling after the day visitors went home and you could stroll around 'The Village' with a pint from the bar (Hercules Hall) as if you owned the place. Nice staying in a different cottage every year, many of which feature in the series with names like Government House, The Mermaid, White Horses where Patrick McGoohan stayed when filming and my favourite, The Angel. Also, in nearby Porthmadog you could watch a film in the Coliseum cinema where they production team would watch the rushes, sadly demolished I just discovered http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/26641.

Yeah, the shop did get steadily worse. Just have nice memories of the initial finding it and some of the treasure found in the first couple of years. As for the cinema, I can't remember what I went to see there though I suspect it was something related to a Prisoner event. What I do remember was walking downstairs from the balcony and noticing all the movie posters being hung with drawing pins!! As a one-time collector the temptation to help myself to some was very strong... but I managed to not embarrass myself.
