It was a 'covered-up' bar-code, revealing that coming weekends winning Lotto numbers. BUT!!! Since bar-codes and Lotto numbers hadn't been invented when Benny Hill 'strutted his stuff' in the 70s, it was no good to anyone, so they pixelated them out, just like those private parts on oh so many nekkid performers that came before (after?!?!). Is that better, Jim.
I accept any and all BS answers, just so long as I can still be eternally grateful for The Benny Hill Show introducing me to gorgeous women in garters when I was just the tender age of 10.
Yes, most UK kids of the 60s/into 70s got their 'yummy/sexy gal' fix from good old BH* That, and the Page 3 girls in your Dad's newspaper (ours was the Daily Mirror). Incredible that 'that' was a thing in UK 70s/80s newspapers, but it helped me along the way.
* unfortunately, we had no Video Recorders to tape them and keep them and endlessly replay/pause them...thank JW your mind's eye was at it's most powerful back then
So...when will pears become a thing? Now that it's autumn, we are being inundated with pumpkin pies and spices and cookies and jam and pumpkin everything else. Apple pies and other apple sweets have long been popular. Apricots - same deal. So what about the succulent sweet goodness of pears?
I want to start seeing pear pies and pear cookies and pear whatever prominently displayed in every grocery store and bakery goods shop!
