In 1980, how many FSMers were "stout defenders" of Eight-track tapes?
As a child of the eight-track I loved them! It was the first time I didn't have to get out of my seat and turn the progam over every 20 minutes. Though it probably helped with my obesity as a child since that was all the exercise I got.
Largely OT: In 1990, I was at a Salvation Army-type place and unfortunately got into a one-sided conversation with a then-30-something guy who was STILL fixated on eight tracks and how much "better" they sounded than any other format. This guy also shrugged off some "deaf" bastard who attempted to grift him with the "I'm Deaf" business card routine.
The more I reflect on all of these personal reminiscences, the more I believe it's all been a madhouse.
I just discovered I can change my own screen name. Which isn't usually the case when you create a username on a forum. The lower case "s" always bothered me!
Why do a few members post here at FSM when their main comments are usually smug scornful put downs of FSMers, their topics, and their discussions? Aren’t there other discussion boards more to their liking and sensibilities?
