I have no idea why, but we are currently romping through one of the silliest series I've ever seen!!
THE ARK (from Dean Devlin on Sci-Fi Channel) about a bunch of nit-wits aboard a spaceship, the last of mankind, heading for a more hospitable planet than the dying Earth.
Most of the senior crew die in the opening moments, after the ship takes a hit while everyone is in cryo, leaving a bunch of young recruits and newbs to steer the ship and set-down some kind of law/order/plan.
It's like a (semi) serious take on AVENUE 5. Or maybe HOLLYOAKS in Space!!
A lot of the characters are straight out of Scooby Doo...there's a Velma and Freddy...100%
But, we keep moving on to the next episode despite the hooting and derision while watching the current one.
More happens in one episode than most full series of your average Netflix drama.
The science is hilarious.
But it must be doing something right. We've only got 4 episodes left to watch.

3 seasons of The Great on Hulu, a very modern retelling Catherine The Great and her rise to power.

Elle Fanning is excellent ( always is ) and Nicholas Holt is sharp and funny, but the main gimmick - the series is set in 18th century Russia , however the characters act and talk like they're in a bad modern day sex farce - wears out its welcome. "Bawdy" is the term used in promotions, but the endless dependence on giggity sex scenes and vulgar dialogue isn't cute and daring , it comes off as cheap and lazy ( for me, and heaven knows i'm no prude ). The show can be hilarious and sweet at times, but aiming so low for the gratuitous laugh or wink from endless "p*ssy" references gets old really fast.

Finally finished S1 of Bosch:Legacy - very good.

The Girl from Plainville, again with Elle Fanning and again on Hulu - a dramatization of what happened leading to the suicide of Conrad Roy with his sociopath high-school girlfriend Michelle Carter texting him endless encouragement to take his life so she can reap the attention afterwards. Very good but grim and sad. Really strong performances from Fanning and Colton Ryan.

Finished season 4 which is the last season of Jack Ryan. It was okay, but I thought previous seasons were better.

Finished season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer. Very good series. I really like this series.

Only Murders In The Building - The first four episodes, I really enjoyed it. The problem is that I don't have Disney+ I saw it at my sisters, she doesn't either, she was using her sons password. The thing is, I know it now, so I suppose I could watch it, although I'll probably ask my nephew first. I really should, shouldn't I.

I'm currently about to STOP watching FROM, the paranormal/sci-fi series that is fast disappearing down the rabbit hole (aka its own @rse).
I'm getting serious LOST vibes while watching series 2 and I swore when that happens, it's time to turn things off (at least with LOST, I liked (some of) the characters and loved the music. This has only got a spooky night-time vibe going for it).
When Michael (from LOST) climbed up the bottom of a well, after entering a tree, and saw a fella from THE LIFE OF BRIAN chained to a wall, who had inexplicably - and impossibly - thrown him a rope to help him up, and a music box appeared, that started playing, and LIFE OF BRIAN said 'they come when the music stops'...well...you get my drift.
Time to shut that bollox down.

I'm on my fourth attempt at watching the classic anime series Nadia: Secret of Blue Water. Not because its bad, I quite like it but because its a 39 episode series and I'm to lazy to put multiple DVDs/Blu Rays in my player and also remember where I left off. Ive watched the first eight episodes three times over. Now that Ive purchased the digital copy (finally in Japanese with English subtitles) off of iTunes I can easily watch the series one episode at a time on my streaming device.

After sitting in my TiVo library for a year (or two), I've finally started watching THE TERROR series 1.
Two English Naval ships, stuck in the ice of the frozen Arctic, while exploring the North Passage (circa 1849) are being picked off by a big white bear, with supernatural overtones.
A nice, bleak/chilly atmosphere, good acting, impressive period detail.
I'm half way through (episode 5 completed last night) and having a good time.

I remember it (S1) getting lots of plaudits/good reviews.
I've also got series 2 in the library, set in a Japanese internment camp WWII (I think).
Is that any/as good?

While I enjoyed the first 4-5 episodes of THE TERROR (in a MASTER & COMMANDER kind of way), by the last 4-5 episodes of this series, I couldn't stand it.
It just dragged on and on so badly, repeating boring scene and situation time and time again.
And the creature, when finally shown, was a big white shaggy dog crossed with a bear and a (kinda) human head (it reminded me of something from HARRY POTTER, complete with terrible CGI).
The whole show became pretentious and confusing and just...dull.
I genuinely didn't have a clue who was who and what was happening during most of the attack sequences, as they were so badly shot and edited.
It'll be years before I get around to series 2 now...if ever!

Eps 1-5 = 7/10
Eps 6-10 = 3/10

Have enjoyed the tv series of Interview with the vampire, with greyworm from Game of thrones as Louis. Was decent. Good cast. I suppose the louis-Lestat relationship was way more homo-erotic than the movie but it was tastefully done i thought.
