While I enjoyed the first 4-5 episodes of THE TERROR (in a MASTER & COMMANDER kind of way), by the last 4-5 episodes of this series, I couldn't stand it.
It just dragged on and on so badly, repeating boring scene and situation time and time again.
And the creature, when finally shown, was a big white shaggy dog crossed with a bear and a (kinda) human head (it reminded me of something from HARRY POTTER, complete with terrible CGI).
The whole show became pretentious and confusing and just...dull.
I genuinely didn't have a clue who was who and what was happening during most of the attack sequences, as they were so badly shot and edited.
It'll be years before I get around to series 2 now...if ever!

Eps 1-5 = 7/10
Eps 6-10 = 3/10

In general I agree. I could watch the main actor (same actor who portrayed the nuclear scientist in the Chernobyl series) forever in good roles, but the series definitely suffered from a get-on-with-it'ishness. It also did not at all need the needlessly ambiguous supernatural element. Still glad to have seen it even though it could have been better.

The second in the series featuring Japanese supernatural elements at least made a decision to properly (i.e. one way or the other) embrace those elements. Enjoyable, with some great imagery, some fine moments. I was however hoping for more than what I got out of it.

Top quality cast. Kind of a tv Thunderheart but better

Loved this show. Season two is out now and is also very good. Check it out, Bill.

We have watched on Netflix six episodes of BODIES. It is mind-blowing. We love it. Still have 2 more episodes to view. It takes place in various times in London. We finally turned on the subtitles because those English actors have obviously forgotten their American accents.wink

Thank you joanie, yes I'm keeping an eye out for it.

Currently watching Oppenheimer, excellent BBC version from 1980 starring Sam Waterston. 7 episodes, im up to 5. I remember it was decent but its better than I remember. Lots of known faces like David Suchet, Edward Hardwicke, Shame Rimmer and Alexander Knox.
Carl Davis wrote great theme for it, which appears in several versions throughout the underscore.

The Sopranos

Progressing (very slowly) through the first season (never watched it in first run). Plays like a 60 min. situation comedy.

Babylon Berlin Season 4

Wow, off to a good start. (Watched the first 4 episodes.) Just a all around one of the all time great television series.

One of the best shows I've seen too. Awesome all the way around.

Bodies
Netflix. Premise starts out interesting but gets sillier and dafter. Too often the acting has that same falseness as Eastenders style bad hamming, where the line delivery makes you cringe. And some annoying characters overreacting and doing things that don't ring true. It smacks of cheap, too.
Wish someone had warned me.

Ouch, Bill. I recommended it. I thought it was really interesting. I was a bit disappointed with the ending, but I loved the rest of the series. Now I'm afraid you will be taking me off of your Christmas present list.wink

We tried Season 1 of Loki and quit after 3 episodes. Now we are watching The Mandalorian which is okay.

No worries Joan. Your hit-rate has been spot on so far and I didn't recall your review, so it wasn't your fault I watched!. It wasn't awful, just average. And a confusing mess, like most time travel bunkum. If diplomat was a 9, this was a 6.5.

Great. Can't wait to see what you send me for Christmas. Some of the Queen's crown jewels would be greatly appreciated.

Who is Erin Carter? On netflix
Not bad. Woman (with spec ops skillset) on the run with young child sets up home as a teacher in Barcelona but when she intervenes in a supermarket hold up, she attracts old enemies n naked new ones.
Lead is good, some acting bit iffy n wooden but otherwise held me for its 7 episodes. 7.8 out of 10

S1 Mayfair witches wasn't bad.

S5 Rocco Schiavone still great.

I was late to the party but Ted Lasso is pure genius. Sadly only a few episodes to go.

S1 s2 n s3 Slow Horses with Gary Oldman superb is very decent.

Rewatching The Sopranos for the first time since it ended. So many things happened a lot more quickly than I remember, probably because I don't have to wait so long for a new season. I'm almost at the midpoint of the final year.

I also forgot that it's simultaneously a very funny and very unpleasant series. I hate absolutely everyone. Except maybe Carmela. She feels like the closest thing to a victim among the regulars.

Also funny is how the characters who feel the most real are those outside of Tony Soprano's "crew." Everyone in the organization is a cartoon character. Tony himself is tragic, you really feel like - given a second chance - he'd never have chose that life. The only people who really give a shit about him are his family and precious few outside friends.

Brilliant series but I feel like I need a shower if I watch too many in a row.

We are watching on Netflix World War II: The Front Line. It has been a great documentary that uses live front-line footage.
