Can anybody find frozen pineapple juice concentrate, or grape juice concentrate in the grocery?

'Cause I sure can't.

So here's my continuing saga. Everyone at my facility took our latest Covid test earlier in the week and on Thanksgiving Day (while at work) we got the news everyone came back negative. Yay, Covid free for another two weeks!

Here's the scary part. Earlier this year there was an exodus from my ALF and about five of us (employees ) quit to work for another ALF not far away. I only latest a week at this other ALF, (I didn't have a good feeling about the management) so went crawling back to my previous employer with my tail between my legs asking for my job back. They gladly took me back (and even gave me a raise!)

Ive since learned this other ALF is having a massive Covid outbreak among the staff and one of my co-workers who stayed at the other AFL died from Covid!

I was cleaning this morning and my boss walked in. "Didn't he call you?" No. "We're closed." So one of the restaurants is closed for another two weeks. I think it was the GM who was infected the previous time. This time someone from night shift. I've cancelled ALL my holiday plans which are few to begin with. With a vaccine coming I wouldn't get too optimistic things will just open up right away. I'd continue the course of minimalism.

ALF as in Assisted Living Facility? That's scary.

ALF as in Assisted Living Facility? That's scary.

Yes. Though I hear nursing homes are worse hit. There's a nursing home not far from my ALF that had something like 20 deaths early on in the pandemic. Even our nursing facility had a pretty big hit. I'm not in the nursing facility, I'm in the ALF.

Thankfully no resident in my ALF has gotten Covid and only one employee tested positive for Covid thus far. Some other employees were forced to stay at home for two weeks for possible interaction with a Covid infected person. But the risk is there, as other ALF's and Nursing Homes have not fared well.

Every Monday a professor answers questions about COVID-related stuff on this radio show. It's calm and intelligent.

Here's the latest.

It normally starts about 33:00 in.

Yeah. They should get an Orson Welles' War of the Worlds thing going. Have him scream, "we're all gonna get it! We're all gonna die!"

Has anyone picked up on Deepmind's claim to have solved the protein folding problem? It's been out a few days now, so frankly, I'm amazed no one seems to have thought it worthwhile opening up a new science-like thread about it.

There are 2 cd stores in Berkeley. Amoeba re-opened in October.

Rasputin never re-opened (although their locations in other counties did). I just saw 3 sturdy young men entering the front door with great big dollies for hauling stuff. Hmmm.....

Actually, Monday.

And it's meant to stop households from interacting. But weren't we avoiding that all along?

Clearly not.

Yes, I should be. A part of me says, it can't come fast enough, the other part of me says, I'm going to be one of the guinea pigs.

I actually got very interesting information to report regarding the vaccine. I'll post it later- its on my other computer.

Rumors the vaccine causes a 3rd eye and lizard tail are complete bunk, but I read on a top secret blog (so I shouldn't be telling anyone this) that 5% of those tested grew a 2nd head. On the bright side, 2 heads are better than one.
