Of course I do like that cue, but I only brought up episodes I could watch in my reviews. I'm guessing we'll get an announcement a week before the set is out, so the 16th. Still thirty-two days to go. Seems like it should be shorter!

Ah, no loss. Just take any extra leftover money and put it in an envelope marked "Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Volume 2)", so you'll be ready in one to three years should such a thing happen.

I wonder why they only announce stuff so tight up to release date. Dont they want most possible people to know about it (and have the chance save money for it!) so that they can sell more copies? Why so little promo? Because it was discovered pretty early on that the moment a release date is officially announced, people will kick up a hissy fit about any delays, regardless of the cause, even if it is beyond the control of the label.

I rewatched Never Kill a Boy on the First Date the other day and I must say, I really don't need all that many cues from Walter Murphy, his work on the first season really wasn't very good. I guess, it fits the late 80s-/mid 90s-period when horror cues were a bit more on the cheesy side, but overall, there was nothing memorable that I would really listen to in my free time. Well the show moved to a cheaper network (UPN), and presumably something had to give... They had a bigger budget on UPN though....they moved to UPN, because they were offering more money. Oh well, not many weeks left now!! (if Jan 23 is still the date, that is). Guess we'll know more maybe next week? Before the holidays, La La Land wrote on their Facebook page "see you on January 2nd". I assume that's the date on which they announce their January releases. So, we should get confirmation tomorrow (and hopefully get a glimpse at the cover art and the track list). Haha I will make sure I always have some hidden money somewhere just in case we get a Vol 2! (which would be amazing!!) Not knowing what will be on the new box set, I say I'd rather have an ANGEL box set before Buffy Vol 2. And while we wait for the Buffy box set to come out, what memorable cues from the Angel series would you guys like to have La La Land include on a hypothetical Angel set? For me, it's really, I want the music from the Waiting in the Wings episode, the ballet episode. That was just incredible score. I also want a lot of the cues from the rather epic fourth season, especially from the episode in which Cordelia gives birth to Jasmine. Then from the final season, pretty much anything that plays when Illyria is on screen, as well as the Eve/Wolfram and Hart cue.

I guess, it fits the late 80s-/mid 90s-period when horror cues were a bit more on the cheesy side, but overall, there was nothing memorable that I would really listen to in my free time. Season 1 of Buffy really isn't very good. I've never had any care for its music either, outside of the Nerf Herder theme tune and a few songs that appear. Sure there were things here and there that worked, like the characters for a start but the show at that point was just another cheap filler show that was destined to get cancelled. What really saved the show was the removal of the majority of things that simply didn't work in Season 1 for Season 2 and shifting the focus more towards long running storylines. Leftovers like "The Anointed One" had to go, and along came the introductions of characters like Spike and Drusilla who were pivotal to the shows later success as was the brilliant lead in to Angel's curse storyline which is where the true turning point for the shows road to greatness really occurred, although you still had your fair share of "Monster of the Week" episodes littering that Season's full potential. It was also around that time Beck's music really began to take center stage and started to get noticed by myself, starting in "Innocence" although I liked some of his music before that without realising the previous composers had rightly been jettisoned. The season opener "When She Was Bad" comes to mind. From that point I became a massive fan and to this day it amazes me how quality writing and a much needed retooling of a show can take it from cult status to classic status. If you had told me Buffy would become one of my all-time favourite shows at the point I was watching Season 1 back in 1997? I would have laughed in your face and branded the show as average at best, mostly crap.

Then from the final season, pretty much anything that plays when Illyria is on screen, as well as the Eve/Wolfram and Hart cue. I would also actually love an Angel box set! This show has great score as well! I would love more from Angel's heroic theme (created by Christophe Beck). It was mostly used during season 1, but also some times during season 2 and 5. (Beck even used it in a Buffy episode in season 4 when Angel returned) But ny number 1 want-cue from Angel is from the season 1 episode "I Will Remember You" when Buffy visits. The heartbreaking end scene brings back the Buffy/Angel love theme and this version is just AMAZING and perfect! So powerful. I think I like it even better than Close Your Eyes. This is actually my number 1 want cue from both shows! And yes, season 1 of Buffy is exactly as you describe it. Just bad. Both the show and the score. I almost always skip it while having my rewatches. lol! And season 3 is my favorite. Both show and score. Would be so great with more news about this tomorrow!!

I remember reading that Joss tried out a number of different themes for the show (presumably Murphy contributed an effort), but none of them were working out, and that it was Hannigan who suggested the group Nerf Herder.
