MP3s are ok for car listening or the like, but they are terribly unsatisfying on my home stereo system (and yes, one CAN hear the difference), and so I would just not buy them. Especially not since I'd think they might show up somewhere else in better sound Quality. I never said you can't hear the difference...I said that I can't hear the difference on my stereo. Now I don't have some high-end audiophile system, but it's not a cheap $50 boombox either. It's on par with what the average consumer would likely have. I'm sorry--maybe it's a flaw on my part, but I really can't understand the mentality behind some of the posts on this board (and no, I'm not singling any one person out...I'm truly not). This is an incredibly niche market. If it wasn't, more than 5,000 copies of a major title like Titanic or Jurassic Park would be made, and it wouldn't take years for them to sell out! Honestly, we are dang lucky to even get what we've gotten! But it seems like some people are just never satisfied. And I'll throw myself under the bus here--there have been times when I gripe about certain grail titles of mine not getting released instead of congratulating the ones who do have their personal grails released. In this case, yeah Varese probably did lowball the edition size for Raggedy Man, but at least they provided another option to get it. No, it might not be a high-end audio option, but it's still better than nothing. And I get what you're saying about personal preferences and the possibility that a better quality download option will present itself. I hope it does for you. I dunno...maybe I'm just getting tired of all the b*tching and moaning about edition sizes and how MP3s and digital downloads suck (I'm excluding the labels and people like MV because they have a financial stake and reason to be against them). Anyways, soapbox rant over. :/ I agree with this wholeheartedly. Anyway, Tidal also has a lossless FLAC version for $10.79 if anyone is interested: https://store.tidal.com/us/album/105522144

Just to be sure: I also did you mean YOU can hear the difference, or that it should matter to YOU, just that one should consider if one wants to spend dollars on sub par sound quality. And I am perfectly aware of the fact that MP3 compressed sound is perfectly fine for many occasions and for many listeners. That's fine too. However, what I meant, many people here on this board keep re-buying the same scores over and over again in the hope of getting even better sound than the last time... so sound quality seems to be an issue for them... it would not make sense to then listen to it all on MP3. Thank you for clarifying that. It did read that way, so again thank you. I admit: I've re-purchased a few scores on that basis. Superman is a great example, but, in that instance, I did it because I truly believe LLL made a "be all, end all" edition. I do know what you're talking about though. I've read those kinds of posts, and I do find myself thinking that they're kind of chasing the wind at times. I personally was lucky enough to snatch up a copy of RAGGEDY MAN, so I'm quite happy. Also, Qobuz (and probably other places) offer a perfect 16-Bit lossless download of RAGGEDY MAN for about 10 bucks, so that would definitely be an option I'd go for. I sure was not ranting. In fact, Qobuz seems to offer a lot of soundtracks as lossless or high-res downloads, including stuff like the complete LORD OF THE RINGS scores or LOGAN'S RUN, or Quartet's expansion of BASIC INSTINCT or TOTAL RECALL. Definitely a good place for second chances. Wanted to emphasize that part in bold because I just wanted to make it clear that my frustration with the complaints I was getting tired of was not directed at you in any way. I was referring to more abrasive elements within the community that I've had to finally put on "ignore". As for marketplaces like Qobuz, I might have to check them out. Normally, I stick to Google Play for MP3 purchases because I use the Google Rewards app and tend to rack up enough store credit to get albums for free.

It's odd this little score reissue sold out while debut legit release of PETER PROUD seems to go unsung. Very odd indeed. However, 3000 copies of Raggedy Man would had gathered dust on Varese/Naxos shelves for years to come.

It's odd this little score reissue sold out while debut legit release of PETER PROUD seems to go unsung. It's psychology. Low quantity spurs panic buying. See A.I. 1000 copies - Goldsmith. Why is ANYONE surprised about this? Dealers, who have been buying short on everything, jump all over this kind of release so it "sells out" quickly at 1000 copies. As someone has pointed out, if they'd done 2000 or 3000 they would have initially sold six or seven hundred. They wanted and needed something to sell out quickly - it helps them look good. I simply find it amusing that there seems to be surprise here.

To play devils advocate a little though, i wonder if ARCHER/WARNING SHOT are flying off the LLL shelves? Sometimes, no rhyme or reason. I know it's not a Goldsmith, but I can't believe there are still copies available of The Big Country, knowing there are only 1000 copies and how popular it is! Not everybody feels the irresistible need to continually repurchase the same soundtracks.

Do we even know when it’s shipping? I just emailed them to find out. Been wondering for several days. Let you know what they say when and if they respond. OK. Here is what they responded: Thank you for reaching out to us. We are expecting that item to be received into our warehouse later this week. Once it has, we will be able to ship out your order. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. Considering that tomorrow is Friday, I assume that shipping will begin (hopefully) early next week. I got my fingers crossed!
