FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON, boxset of the series scores by the various composers.

And it's going to be announced next week or the week after, tying in with both the 50th anniversary of the JUly 20th landing and the release of the remastered Blu-ray set of the HBO series (which has a Dolby Atmos track and new visual effects, so its received some TLC).

It's been brought up in other threads. So we called it.

MV had mentioned their 500th release was a "huge" one.
Huge can mean the title itself or the number of discs.
Therefore I'm thinking more on a collection from a prestigious series/franchise like Indy, Star Wars, James Bond or Rocky.

That was my train of thought.

" huge" = GODZILLA

From the Earth to the Moon is the best guess in this thread, by far, for the 500th release, with the timing and MV's stated interest (in the MV/LLL questions thread) about pursuing a release, sometime last year. I'm not sure it's *quite* big enough for LLL's 500th release, but assuming it is considered to be so by the fine folks there, they will have my money!

We are talking one of Michael Kamen's best themes and some of his best work, ever (three scores for the series), plus soaring and inspiring feature-quality scores by other high profile feature film composers Mark Isham (two scores), Marc Shaiman, Mark Mancini (so many Marks on this series!), Brad Fiedel, and James Newton Howard! I mean, those are some big fan favorite names, there, who cover the gamut of having written soaring/inspiring music, from Shaiman's American President to Isham's October Sky! And the one composer I didn't mention (Mason Daring) might not be as well known as the others, but he did very fine work for three episodes of this series too. Fingers crossed that this happens -- if not now, then eventually...but the timing sure seems particularly great, now.

"huge" = GODZILLA

"huge" = "giant"

"That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

It’s GoldenEye with Altman’s full Tank Chase cue. Has to be. Yep.

(Please no one call me out on how unlikely this is. Let me bask in my own ignorance for right now.)

They'd get my money for sure. And good on you for quoting Neil correctly.

A few years ago Intrada was working on it, mentioning Broughton. While it's entirely possible they were only doing efforts by him, I seriously doubt it.

Anyway, then the lawsuit hit over the theme and I suspect the rights are now in Lawsuit Hell and it may be quite some time before we get anything.

I really want this as well! I don't think it'll be the 500th release, but they'll probably do it eventually.

You’re going to see a grown man eek like a child when they do it.

Isn't there a ST-VOY set yet to come, to close out LLL's ST releases?

And a set made up of leftovers from the other series as well I thought.

It won't be the 500th release, GoldenEye alone certainly isn't that important no matter how much I want it. It's going to be something big and ultra cool, that's for sure. I'm excited and intrigued to see what LLL has cooked up.
