I know it's been said before, but we REALLY need (for the final A-List Goldsmith canon) Supergirl and Legend. Both scores are just etheral to me and need what we all are calling the "Matessino" touch! I would personally love it if Intrada or LLL did SG, and even Legend. I bring this up here because I know both scores were released in their OG forms, on Varese. Though Legend I have yet to hear their version, and Supergirl was very ratty and I believe unmastered if I read correctly? You have yet to hear their version because it does not exist. Here are all the releases of the score: http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/title/1983/Legend Supergirl is a messy situation. Varese did put out the initial album back in the 80s but that was before they reserved perpetuity rights as a matter of course on their releases (they still got them for certain re-recordings they produced, like Pee-Wee's Big Adventure by Elfman, Brainstorm by Horner, or Eye of the Needle by Rozsa). Their album was missing certain synths and sweeteners and may have had some mastering issues, I'm not sure. But a lot of people prefer their album to the subsequent Silva Screen expansion in the 90s, which has its own issues. You probably got confused about Legend because Silva Screen also expanded that title in the 90s (see also Rambo: First Blood Part II), but it was never Varese. It's unclear whether Silva Screen still holds perpetuity rights on the two titles. They used to have the rights for Rambo but I believe those expired at some point, allowing Intrada to produce their new edition in the past few years. I think it's possible their rights expired on Supergirl as well, and maybe we will get a definitive edition as you hope. But with Legend it may not matter: expanded album producer James Fitzpatrick has said on this forum more than once that their expanded single CD edition included all of the score they had available in good quality. There is an unmentionable of the score which includes the missing cues, but it has very poor sound...sadly barring a miracle this is probably how the score will remain, just like with Link from roughly the same era. Yavar Careful what you state as fact, some of this is not true. I know you like to give a ton of info on almost every post on every forum through the net, but make sure you know 100% before stating full on facts I'm simply trying to help by relaying stuff that's been shared by others more in the know than me. Maybe some of them were wrong, or maybe situations have changed. But when relaying something I'm unsure about, I made sure to say something like, "I think it's possible" or even "I'm not sure". And when I said, "It's unclear whether Silva Screen still holds perpetuity rights," of course I was speaking about for us regular folks -- it may of course be perfectly clear to someone in the biz like you. If you have a specific correction to make, I would love it if you did so! Otherwise, you leave people here wondering which things I said are accurate and which aren't... Yavar

I don't know what is coming but I sense a Barry.......it's time Maybe the complete Moonraker. I seem to remember reading here that the tapes have been found & are safe & sound, but not doing a lot of good in a vault somewhere. Sure... along with re-discovered multi-channel "Quo Vadis" masters.
