In fact there are no alternate versions of the film available. Probably a TV cut was considered at some time but dropped.

In that case, I'm confused about the Dolphin Chase cue. It could be that the shark motif IS included in the "Revised" version and the package simply misses the notation. Or that the tracks are the wrong way round (unlikely). Or that he'd originally scored it a different way. Or... well we'll see!

The fact that the "Telex" version was selected as a sound clip suggests that it's considered a significant "alternate"

By the clips it looks to me that the "telex" version is the film version. Another case on which the track in CD2 seems to correspond to the film version is the "Park Opening" - the track in CD 1 is clearly the album version the track in the clip of CD2 corresponds most to what is actually included in the fim

BAM! Nice one Intrada! Nothing beats the film version of the main title... Perfectly scored. Parker nailed this one... My opinion a better Jaws follow up score then Smalls. Wonder why Parker wasn't more mainstream after this score.

His JAWS sound carried straight over into the British TV show Dempsey And Makepeace which instantly inherited the same creepy, dissonant chords. And the D&M theme took significant inspiration from the skiing cues!

He did do in 2004 Alex Rider: Operation Storm. His tracks quite good. Lot of his session work on iTunes.

So, two JAWS scores released within a few months in the first half of the year, a year that happens to be the 40th anniversary of the original...

... can't be coincidence, can it?

I'm sure it's well covered in the liner notes for this release, but how did Parker get this gig? I just IMDB'd him to confirm there was no connection between him and the fairly famous director, and I found he had very few credits before JAWS 3-D and frankly not that many after. I did purchase the LP back in the day because it was a Jaws film but I never found out anything about the composer.

Nutshell summation of how this dude got the job would be awesome....

If memory serves, he had written music for TV's That's Incredible, which Jaws 3-D producer Alan Landsburg also produced (I know, since I wrote the liner notes I ought to have a more definitive answer, but I don't have them in front of me).

Which I assume would come from Intrada, though I'm wondering, IF the original Jaws is being worked on, if it might come from La-La Land. They have the Spielberg/Williams relationship, not to mention it would no doubt come with the usual gorgeous Jim Titus art direction. (He's done all of LLL's previous Spielberg/Williams albums.)

I would assume that this was library music, of which Parker wrote an awful lot of for different labels?

I'm hoping for Intrada, just for spine continuity.

Either way, I hope this is going down. I'm still living with the regret of seeing JAWS 2 for 12 quid in a Virgin Megastore in the late 90s and NOT buying it.

I'd be fine if a complete Jaws 2 and Jaws came from Big Machine (Taylor Swift's label), just as long as we got them!

(Please note: I like Taylor Swift.)

I remember the uproar when BBC Worldwide became 2Entertain, and the spines of classic-era Doctor Who DVD releases had different corporate logos on them, making the complete set look inconsistent.

Some of those fans are still in therapy...

Listened last night. This is a fantastic presentation. Well done! So much more than the earlier release.

And those spines (Jaws 3-D and the Revenge) look really great next to each other.

I too find it deeply harrowing. Not enough to start a petition about, but still..

Do they? Personally Jaws The Revenge went in my Small collection, and Jaws 3-D will go under Parker. So they'll be a loooooong ways apart.

Just finished my first listen...what a package this is. For whatever reason, I've been a sucker for this score for years. I'm not even going to try figuring out sequences, what's new and what's repeated or only slightly different...I'm just going to import it all.

Not that other projects aren't, but this one seemed especially laborious...thanks, Intrada.

I would assume it's Intrada for all 4. I bet you they worked out something. I can't believe that getting the last 2 during the first half of the year was a coincidence. Plus, with this being the 40th anniversary of the original, I'm calling it now smile I hope I'm right.

What a blast! Listening to this right now pumping through the house. What a treat to have this complete. Sub Search revised is a particular treat. Liner notes are terrific. Parker hit this out of the park. Have always enjoyed this score but never liked it as much as now. If Jaws 2 is next then this will be one of the most amazing years as a collector and fan.
