Received the expansion yesterday and I'm just loving it. The Stravinsky interpolations are unfortunate (and NOT Parker's only offense "borrowing" from it either) but the thematic material is wonderful. I could listen to that end title all day and the harp/flute reduction piece is so pleasing to hear. I don't think an A-lister could have handled that proponent any better, frankly.
What distacted me , apart Stravinsky's nods , is the First Blood " The Razor ( 0:43 ) strings effect on Phillip’s Demise (01:10). Also it is said " John Williams' Jaws theme, i think in this use it is more a "motif " rather than a theme ...
I have just ordered this from Intrada along with Indecent Proposal. I always find the love theme reminds me heavily of Williams, especially his early to mid seventies period. It's a gorgeous piece. I am also curious about the the track 'Panic At Seaworld'. On the original album this track runs 2.07 however on Intrada's new album it only runs 0.48. Based on a post earlier in the thread am I right in assuming this track was comprised of 'Panic At Seaworld' plus 'Attack on the Skiers' or is it something else entirely?

The album assembly of "Panic at Seaworld" includes: Panic at Seaworld (which is unused in the film)+the midle portion of Attack on the Skiers+Shark Rams Tunnel (the unused original version at Cd2)
It is the one track in the album that can not be duplicated with this new edition, as the midle portion of Attack on Skiers (the music for the shark approaching the underwater restaurant) is crosfaded with the music for the attack on the skiers and another piece at the end.
I take it there's no real reason to keep the original, other than it better no a great album. Is there anything on the previous album which isn't in this new release?
I edited a video with the same sequences that were on the original album, but using their revised film versions. Put your 3-D glasses and enjoy: http://youtu.be/Ws2eFFe1omA
I had an opportunity recently to view the new 3D Blu-ray and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys 3D and is capable of viewing it. The main title sequence alone is worth it!

Just picked mine up moments ago and I concur. It's worth it. Amazed that they aren't even advertising it as a 3D disc. It was buried in the extras section.
Looks great in 3D. I would love to see Friday the 13th get the same treatment. Amityville 3 also.
