I hope this isn't one of those 24 hour sell out things, as I have to work all day Friday. I am somewhat disappointed it's only a selection of only season 1 and 3, but I shouldn't complain after waiting for so long for something to come out.
This is good music that should be heard with loud bass, I hate the thought people will only be playing this on cheap (or not at all)

Rob Walsh still mentioned that there were plans for a Blu-ray audio version - I am still going to hold off - I have a feeling that more is coming.
But I think vinyl fans will be happy with these.
I emailed Sony legacy last week and haven't heard back - but who am I?
What's funny is that Walsh's mention of a release of the music on Blu-ray still make no sense to me, it's simply not a format used for music releases unless it's a live concert that was recorded. I gotta think there was some confusion with this on his part or what was communicated to him.
Quick update... I had posted on the Facebook page for Enjoy The Ride/Toons regarding a release of this on another format and they just replied to me as follows: "Thanks for your interest although Sorry to tell you that but We are a vinyl label in most cases and have no plans for either a digital or cd for this release".
So, if there is to be a release of this music in another format, it won't be from this label.

OR.....maybe they plan to release the TV show on Blu-ray and want the audio in 5.1 including the music. I tweeted at Shout Factory who did the 30th anniversary film Blu-ray release and heard nothing.
I would love for Intrada to do the CD and surprise us all as they did the film score.
I've waited many years for a CD. I can wait a little longer.
20 points says they are NOT going to release this on CD.
Somebody will at some point. Just not this label.
According to their twitter account today in a reply to the same question, they added that "it is not being released on any other format" as far as they know and "if so, then Hasbro would have mentioned it at Toyfair when they unveiled the vinyl".

Disappointing.
Agreed, so I'm already looking into the adapter I'll need to transfer from my LP to mp3s on my Mac.
Still struggling with how they expect to sell 2000 copies. My record player isn't even working properly anymore. And to spend over $100 for a new one... no. Just bloody no.

I emailed Sony legacy last week and haven't heard back - but who am I? Mentioned over a year ago. It wasn't something that was set in stone.

Except that's not true at all. Blu-Ray Audio is a thing. Not a huge thing, mind you, but there's plenty of music-only releases (and unlike DVD-Audio, any BR player can play them).

There's a fierce debate about this over on the Transformers forum - plenty of people supporting either side - so it wouldn't surprise me if it sold out relatively quickly. You have to remember that Transformers are a very collectable thing, so a lot of fans will pick this up even though they don't have a record player. There's also the Optimus/Bumblebee/Megatron variant angle - some dedicated fans will buy one of each.
