Well I know the really awesome folks at LLL have released Transformers music on CD with Hasbro in the past and all have sold exceptional well. La La Land have shared in the past that they aren't planning much more to come out on vinyl.

Enjoy the Ride records has released exclusive collectible vinyl it's their whole business model. None of what they have put out is expansive or complete and that vinyl looks like a collection of popular themes from the series.

I will be watching La La Land Records upcoming monthly announcements very closely. They have hinted at more animation coming, and Transformers "pays" so I am gonna keep making sparks here about it!

Waiting forever for some unreleased scores and they come via vinyl instead of CD in 2018. The world really has gone mad.

Agreed. I'm guessing they got the exclusive LP rights...but a CD is most likely imminent. If not, I'll be more than happy to download all the YouTube LP rips uploaded after the fact while waiting to purchase what 99% of the fans want: a digital release. I can't imagine them exclusively catering to the minority of fans who have devolved back into LPs.

I seriously doubt all the music will fit onto a two-sided LP. I don't think whomever wrote that line knew what they were saying. It's probably going to be like that old expanded "Dances With Wolves" CD that had a sticker advertising it as the complete score, when in fact it was not.

I'm reading "a line of releases"....so hopefully this is some sort of series. It it's really complete (season 1 to 4, it could be 3 double albums).

99% of the music lovers want a cd, but 99% of the (transformers) collectors (probably) want a nice big record to put on a shelf. Personally, I never stopped listening to records and would have been really happy with this in 1985

Great news. Now waiting for a CD and/or download release. Very nice to see Johnny Douglas credited on the front cover along with Robert J. Walsh.

The Hasbro brand event said the vinyl was out on March 9th. No CD was mentioned. If there is a CD coming at the same time (presumably from LLL), we will find out in ten days when the March flyer comes out. It's going to be a long ten days...

If we've learned anything from the timing of the release of the Buffy The Vampire set - the release dates might not be aligned - maybe at some point in 2018 we'll know more.

OMG....

I enjoy the music from season 1. But really looking forward to season 2 music, and of course the hopefully pending CD release.

I don't like asking for "the next thing" already, but Season 2 is where the best stuff is. Hopefully this will be a worldwide release and not an impossible to find object.

I tweeted at EnjoytheRide/Toons this morning the following message:

@EnjoytherideRES Just noticed that the labelling on this upcoming LP: "Hasbro Studios Presents: 80's TV Classics - Music From" There's been mention years ago of a Hasbro Classics Soundtrack Series - I'm assuming that you've got some more tunes coming from other Hasbro series? smile

They like my tweet an hour ago - I have a feeling that "much" more music is on the way. big grin

I do also know from my conversations with DHX Media, that they are working on a Sailor Moon LP release too with some of the USA music.

By the power of HOMINA!!

Being a holy grail, I just might have to bite on any and all releases of this, despite my disdain for LPs.

From alt.toys.transformers:

Member Rodimus_2316 says he sent Rob Walsh a message about it. Reply:

"Don’t know ... release on Sony Records, March 6th, 2018."

(Rodimus) "On CD and vinyl?"

"Should be ... again, call Sony Records in NY."

Plenty of discussion about this on the Transformers forums. Mostly consisting of 'great news but I want a CD'.

I am betting all my chips on LLL for a CD in March. If not March, then later in the year.

LLL are at Wondercon next month - whether that has a part to play, I'm not sure.

It could also wind up that there is an accompanying digital download release for this, especially as it could be less expensive than manufacturing costs for a CD release.

Manufacturing a CD is less expensive (and it takes a shorter time to make) than LP's.

Oh, I know, I'm just wondering if the amount of cost required for vinyl precludes there being much remaining in the budget for CD. And it's mainly the niche labels like LLL and Intrada that care the most about providing CDs for these niche scores while the major labels seem to prefer digital downloads. But hey, I'd love to have a CD of this release!

Not sure if coloured vinyl is worse than black. Originally (vinyl) records came in all sorts of colours. Black is just cheap to make.

Picture discs though, those are terrible to play.
