I have digital antenna television in my bedroom and it's great! Great picture and sound quality, and 30 free channels. My antenna is a digital flat antenna by RCA. I get all but one station, ION, and I can't figure out why I don't get it?

I receive both digital and High-def signals over a set of rabbit ears I hae in addition to cable. If I find three programs I wish to see are airing simultaenously, I'll record two on my DVR and watch the third (presuming it's a "network" show) via my rabbit ears.

For the record, my over-the-air hi-def signal, from local network affiliates and independent stations, is superior to my cable provider's hi-def...that's because it's not filtered or compressed, you see. Still....cable is my primary means of viewing.

Nope. Very few people in Norway still use antenna television.

I have an indoor digital antenna in my input chain for those evenings when the Time/Warner box goes plotz. At least we can watch the network stuff.

I haven't seen a pair of rabbit ears since the 80's. It was cable in the 90's. Now satellite with Dish Network. What's the next step?

I canned Dish last year. I operate off my external antenna and pull in all the HD channels locally. Works for me as I am not home much to watch tv lately. I do miss watching Fox sports for the Tigers in the summer, but can watch those over at a family members if I want to.

I have only my wabbit ears and don't much miss broadcast TV.

Last time I had cable was around 1994 or so.

Just rabbit ears. I live near a mountaintop and get a station 100+ miles away in Wyoming as well as nearly all Denver area stations. The only frustration is that PBS broadcasts from a different antenna that is no longer line of sight, and I can't get it since they went digital. I don't watch much television.

I live in a relatively young development (it was brand new when my family and I moved in summer 1999), and there's a house a couple blocks away where the home owners put up a big old-fashioned antenna on their roof. It's such an eyesore and makes me realize just how ugly they are.

Me, I've been on cable since 1992. I badgered my parents into getting it because I wanted to see Batman: The Animated Series, and our reception of Fox at the time off over-the-air TV was awful. For the last few years we've had Comcast Digital Cable, though our spare room TV is limited to local channels because it doesn't have a box. I'm hoping to maybe get Dish or DirectTV sometime this year, along with a DVR. The TV is on a lot throughout the day and evening and we all have various tastes, so the variety of cable channels come in very handy.

OTA high-def is more than enough. Is there anything out there worth watching other than 30 ROCK? Seems every station is covered in zombies, vampires, and reality tv anyway. Broadcast tv needs to die and and be replaced by a viable, easy to use stream-what-you-really-want-to-watch option. I guess we're almost there with Netflix.

I don't have any television at all!

So you can't watch the movies that have the film scores you like? I'll bet that many here are the same way, only they have TVs! wink

I only have basic cable and even that is a waste of time and money; thank The Maker for DVDs...

I watch movies -- and, occasionally, TV seasons -- on my laptop. It would be nice if Apple would get past its anti-Blu-ray thing so when this computer finally dies I can upgrade to one that plays Blu-ray as well.

I have FIOS for TV, phone and internet. However, since I got my blu ray and HDTV, I see virtually no reason to have the television portion of the deal. I barely ever watch it. Both the blu ray and tv connect to the internet, and you can stream anything. We listened to nothing but our own Pandora Christmas stations, via the blu ray, this Christmas. In fact, we are in the process of taking down the decorations, and are still listening.

What's the point of watching blu-rays on a laptop???

Well, seeing as I don't have a TV, and they're annoyingly pulling shenanigans like releasing certain cuts of a film exclusively on Blu-ray. . .

Point taken. I was thinking purely in terms of video and audio.

Well depending on the laptop resolution of the screen it could be HD, probably not 1080P though. I know my desktop's monitor is higher resolution than my SDTV so I tend to watch video on there over the TV. Audio quality would have to be supplemented by some alternate output format like a USB DAC to get the proper lossless sound from a blu ray.

The only reason I have "pay channels" is for sports. Even then, I think about dropping to the basic package ($20/mo for the "Free" channels) and just watch sports at restaurants....I go out anyway.
