Early in 1978 i went in an electrical store, that did everything from fridges to cookers to stereos to ...those new fangled Phillips video machines. The cassettes were double decker ones. While in the shop they were playing this electronic music and i asked the guy what it was. He produced the cover of Oxygene LP, by Jean Michel Jarre. I knew the surname but didnt know if they were connected. Anyway, we bought the Phillips video machine - i think it was 250 pounds - a fuck of a lot then - about 8 weeks wages for me - AND i went out and got oxygene too. Then equinox.

Thor, I enjoyed that interpretation of "WitA", cheers for posting it! I've been on a Synthwave jag for the better part of the year, though my favorite artist in that genre is The Midnight. I've actually purchased all of their instrumental releases upon discovering Nocturnal—that album, and especially the title track, stayed in constant rotation for about 6 months! As for the topic, here's another rendition of "WitA", this one by Jeff Johnson, a very talented artist who is highly regarded, though also highly obscure, within the very vertical Christian Music market. https://jeffjohnsonarkmusic.bandcamp.com/album/dreams-of-a-christmas-night-ep
